I have been very disappointed.
My reservation, made through Sanctum Soho website, was properly recorded but not as an afternoon tea. I guess the website was not functioning effectively as I carefully selected "afternoon tea" when I made the reservation. My brother and I eventually had an afternoon tea but we had to wait for 45 minutes before it got served.
Regarding the afternoon tea, it was good but totally different to the menu available on the website, which was the second disappointment. We were told by the waitress the menu on the website was the upcoming one and that it was a mistake it was already published. Anyway, a basic chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream is not the kind of dessert one could expect from a GBP 50 afternoon tea.
As a synthesis, it was not at all the experience we thought we booked.

An odd experience. Surprising that the waiter did not know what a skinny latte was? Not entirely sure that it is set up to receive external guests for breakfast. Staff seemed laxidasic.

The Gents' Tea is excellent. Great and plentiful food. Finishing with whiskey and cigars on the terrace is fun.

Shockingly poor food, scone was tiny, impossible to cut and hard as a biscuit, waaaay to much mustard in the sandwich (and i like mustard) so it was inedible, and the ice cream on the fudge cake was vanilla not jack daniels as advertised. Drink with the high heels tea was bubbles instead of 'signature cocktail', was told by barman we had topay extra for entlemans jaxk (we pointed out on the menu that was included in the price and only single barrel was extra - no apology given he just looked pissed off. The only positive i can take from the experience was how well one if your staff (guy with long curly black hair) handled our complaint, he was excellent, everything else was awful. Very disappointing as it was meant to be a 30th birthday treat for my hubby

The food was excellent. The scotch egg starter was divine. Portions were also very large.

We had the gentlemens afternoon tea. Food was tasty, warm and well presented. However the service was terrible, not for fault of the waitress who was polite and helpful, but there was a rea lack of staff. Every time we needed a drink we had find a member of staff rather than being asked, felt you were almost forgotten about until a particular element of the afternoon tea was ready. For example, we had request the whiskey course, rather then it flowing as it should. We had request water rather than being offered.
At the time of booking I stated it was my partners Birthday, even completing the special requests for the online booking form, but no added special touch was presented. Was disappointing experience, made worse because the food was so great.

A great dinning experience with friendly staff that went out of their way to accommodate a large group. Restaurant had a great atmosphere along with an even better menu. We experienced the Gentleman's high tea and thoroughly enjoyed the food.

Fantastic food, brilliant service. Went on a cold and rainy day, we were sat on the roof terrace and were offered a blanket if we were cold. The restaurant had soft lighting so made it feel like you were out for the evening even though it was the afternoon which was a nice touch. My husband said that if he'd known about this hotel earlier he would have been sooner.
