Set over an acre of land, New Inn Farmborough is a wonderfully family-friendly pub, boasting two kids' play areas. Inside, there is a pool table and darts board for the adults, as well as a varied menu of British classics, and cask ales.

Specialising in trusty, home-cooked British recipes, the New Inn menu is made up of time-honoured classics and inventive chef’s specials. The signature beef & ale pie is a creation from much-loved celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, while favourite world flavours include sizzling steak fajitas, or aubergine and roast beetroot curry. Gourmet sandwiches and jacket potatoes are served throughout the day, and guests can round things off with an indulgent crumble, cheesecake or sundae.

The drinks list at the New Inn pub features carefully-chosen beers and international wines, and a lengthy list of soft drinks. Younger diners are not forgotten, with a varied menu for both lunch and dinner, and a mini roast served on Sundays.

Offering a versatile and family-friendly setting just outside of Bath, New Inn is just a 16-minute drive from Oldfield Park Rail Station.

Waited almost an hour for the food which arrived. The bowl of veg was sent back as was disgusting just some frozen veg warmed up. Another meal was cold. Used to come here a lot but has gone downhill. Will be a very long time before we return.

The staff are really friendly and were eager to please, the food unfortunately was very poor, the beef was very tough and the veg was very sparse and not cooked to our liking, I also feel the price I paid for a few lettuce leaves , a few pieces of chicken and bacon which I couldn't actually see was very overpriced. Sadly we will not be returning which is a shame as the staff and place were lovely!!

A pleasant experience. Good service. Good choice of meals at various prices.
The vegetables could be better. I would have appreciated fresh mashed potatoes.

Booked table for 1.30 seated at 1.30 ordered meal at 1.40 meal arrived at 2.45! Meal was ok when it arrived but had to rush our meal as we had to be somewhere at 4.00. Waiting staff very good and felt sorry for them as they were having to take a lot of flack from unhappy diners. Obviously problem with staffing levels in kitchen, they knew they were going to be busy as they were fully booked until 6.00 when we arrived.
Was not charged for drinks but didn't feel I could complain to waiting staff as it was not their fault.
Kitchen staffing levels need to be addressed.

Booking service great. Food not so great. Poor roast Sent roast chicken back as didn't look cooked. We were told it comes in like that in microwaveable bags- so not roasted at all. The roasts were cold too. Dad's vegetable soup was tasteless and my Daughter's Caesar salad was boring as mainly lettuce. On a plus side my Father in Law really enjoyed his steak and Mother in Law said her scampi was alright. Not sure we would eat there again. Lovely pub and surroundings, but mass produced food-shame!!!

The restaurant was busy as it was Easter Sunday but the efficient staff were smiling and friendly under pressure. We weer a party of 7 and all really enjoyed our tasty roasts . The roast potatoes were delicious and the yorkshires were enormous. The vegetarian roasts were good too apparently . Our niece had a gorgeous looking burger
