We went for the Christmas Afternoon Tea for four of us. We were the only diners there, so the atmosphere was quiet, to say the least - but the whole point was to catch up with family, so the quiet setting was ideal. The food was plentiful and fabulous - seasonal sandwiches, cinnamon scones and a vast selection of cakes. Plenty of options - and copious amounts - of teas too. Service was excellent - attentive without being overly fussy. All in all, a fabulous afternoon.

Would not return , because of Christmas commitments was not where advertised. Put in bar lobby next to reception horrible. Not nice Way to eat on low sofas and low table passing things across each other and too far from one another to have close conversation. Not the experience we paid for

We had a most enjoyable lunch time, lovely food, and excellent service . Unfortunately there was an error with the bill, but it was soon sorted.

The hotel was very nice, the room we were in was fantastic and the food and service was great

The food was lovely, I particularly enjoyed the goats cheese and beetroot starter. I found it a little lacking in atmosphere as it's a large restaurant and there were very few people there (most people were at functions in rooms nearby which made parking difficult). Service was a little slow, but overall we enjoyed our evening.

Incredible steak, beautifully-presented food and amazing flavour combinations. Impeccable service and a lovely dining environment too.

Lovely hotel. Afternoon tea booked for 2.30 but had to ask twice when we would be seated. Finally seated at 2.50 which is a bit annoying when you're hungry. Selection of sandwiches were very minimal. Smoked salmon and ham were 1/8 of a sandwich! Egg and cream cheese both small fingers. My sister is more savoury and asked if she could have a couple more 1/8ths but was told NO this is all you get and we don't have the ability to make any more. Odd considering this is a hotel and they walked us past a very large kitchen. Of course they have the ability to make more. That's just very poor service. There were plenty of cakes and scones but personally it wasn't well made. All the cakes were very close textured and bad tasting. I would say that the chef is not an experienced baker. I can make better mini cupcakes. All in all a very average afternoon tea.
