Incredible steak, beautifully-presented food and amazing flavour combinations. Impeccable service and a lovely dining environment too.

Lovely hotel. Afternoon tea booked for 2.30 but had to ask twice when we would be seated. Finally seated at 2.50 which is a bit annoying when you're hungry. Selection of sandwiches were very minimal. Smoked salmon and ham were 1/8 of a sandwich! Egg and cream cheese both small fingers. My sister is more savoury and asked if she could have a couple more 1/8ths but was told NO this is all you get and we don't have the ability to make any more. Odd considering this is a hotel and they walked us past a very large kitchen. Of course they have the ability to make more. That's just very poor service. There were plenty of cakes and scones but personally it wasn't well made. All the cakes were very close textured and bad tasting. I would say that the chef is not an experienced baker. I can make better mini cupcakes. All in all a very average afternoon tea.

The food was an exceptionally high standard and one of the best my husband and I have been too. The waiter was very helpful and attentive. Everything was attractive to look at and tasted fresh. Everything was a high standard even down to a selection of butters that were pipped and were delicious served with different breads.
We would highly recommend this restaurant and wish it was nearer to us!

Nicely greeted on arrival and seated quickly. Tea was in the lounge which is a lovely space and very comfortable. Well thought out decor and table layout. The tea selection is good and the food was delicious. The scones especially.
    Overall an enjoyable afternoon

Needlam House is a lovely Hotel with lovely ambience The Restaurant has 2 rosettes and I am not sure how after my Afternoon tea experience, The scones where really hard and dry the bread for the sandwiches where stale the cakes where old and tasteless the only good thing about the afternoon tea was the tea part £25 is a lot to pay for afternoon tea when it is so bad I tipped £20 because I am in the food industry and thought the waitress was good I would not come back again.

I went with my husband for Sunday lunch. It was delicious. We had beef and lamb roast dinners. The meat was tender, the roast potatoes crisp and golden, a good selections of beautifully cooked vegetables and of course a Yorkshire puddling. The gravy was absolutely delicious. It's rounded off with a dark chocolate terrine....mouth-watering! The service and presentation was impeccable. It was definitely a cut above. I would thoroughly recommend!

The restaurant is very nicely decorated, nicely layed out. The staff were very helpful with the choice of wine to go the the duck main. Food is amazing, not the biggest menu but you don't need a massive menu when the food is good!
    Definitely going back again.

Having booked lunch online, to be sure of a seat, we were surprised to find an empty restaurant - around a 100 seats available but just two of us dining! The surroundings were modern, bright and comfortable but the ambience was cold and uninviting, despite the frenetic jazz played during our meal - probably because we were the only customers present. The staff were friendly and the service efficient and at just the right pace. We were given the fixed price menu, and made our selection from the limited choice, but discovered on leaving that an alternative full à la carte menu was also available. The portions were modest, although the food was well cooked and attractively presented, and there was a varied selection of wines at affordable prices. Not an unpleasant experience - but I don't think that we will be rushing back very soon!
