Relaxed, cosy atmosphere but not too loud, friendly service. Good small selection of well chosen dishes, original and delicious. First time I had eaten an ant coated fudge!

Praised by top critics including Jay Rayner and Grace Dent, Native in Neal’s Yard pairs innovative cooking techniques with a passion for produce, creating a menu of flavour-rich, seasonal dishes. Served in charmingly laidback surrounds, dishes are packed with the country's best wild food that is native to the UK.

From a River Cottage-trained chef, the Native menu showcases natural, foraged and seasonal ingredients. Dishes evolve with the seasons, but starters may include the likes of wild rabbit and prune pastilla with pickled walnut salad, or smoked pollock croquettes with lovage mayo. For mains, discover dishes like venison rack with spiced cabbage and pommes boulangeres, or flame-grilled clams with ham hock broth and homemade sourdough.

Desserts at Native Covent Garden are no less inventive. Joining a classic English cheese board are twists on favourites, such as pain perdu with basil and lemon curd ice cream.

Tucked away in Neal’s Yard, Native restaurant in London is a 3-minute walk from Covent Garden Tube Station.

Hearty food and warm casual ambience. Definitely a great place to meet and catch up with friends. Following a slight mix-up with my reservation, they made it up with a charming selection of petit fours including Fugde with Kentish wood ants!

very enjoyable evening- all the food was good, especially the hare ragu and the chocolate dessert, which did not sound great, but was.Service was great too- friendly, efficient, and enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the food.
Only slight reservation was about the table- we were upstairs on one of the two tables for 2 people, which were v close together and also affected when people came in and out the restaurant.

We had an incredible experience at Native! This restaurant has created a beautifully grounding, relaxed atmosphere where you enjoy exquisite dishes with incredibly unique flavours. The service is delightfully relaxed and low key in line with the overall atmosphere, you're well looked after but not overwhelmed. It was such a splendid experience, we will definitely be back!

Fantastic food and something a little bit different. All 3 courses were delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful explaining all the dishes.

I found this restaurant online and booked because of all the excellent reviews. I was not disappointed. They have a daily menu based on what fresh produce has been delivered that day and you can really tell that the quality of the food is second to none. Both waiters and the front of house new exactly where all the food came from which was quite impressive given the intricate detail in the ingredients. Service was spot on too. We had the £35 three course menu with fresh bread to start and this was more than enough. Great value for money- would definitely recommend for couples or small parties (the restaurant is very small). Thanks for a lovely dining experience

Great fresh food and genuinely good service from people that care about what the restaurant provides.

Having recently had an extremely lackluster dinner at a not-to-be-named Cotswold restaurant that just received a Michelin star, we were delighted to find farm-to-table dining redemption at Native (at less than half the price). Flavorful, properly cooked English cuisine, complemented by English wine (English wine!) and beer, accompanied by attentive, personable and knowledgeable service. Say no more, just eat there.

Food was exquisite! Every dish was delicious and well thought out accompanied by really good wine. Staff were really friendly and very helpful explaining everything really carefully and were very patient with my colleague who was gluten and dairy intolerant.
My only complaint would be the tables were a little close together as we sat upstairs so had to put up with a couple next to us who felt the need to speak really loudly at each other the whole meal even though they were a foot apart and proceeded to get the waitress to join in the conversation who was literally sitting on our table to have a 20 minute chin wag, that and the loud music made me want to leave. By the time I left the restaurant I felt like my ears were bleeding. Apart from my blatant middle age-ness the food made up for it and I would go back, but maybe ask in future to go downstairs where there is more room.
