Praised by top critics including Jay Rayner and Grace Dent, Native in Neal’s Yard pairs innovative cooking techniques with a passion for produce, creating a menu of flavour-rich, seasonal dishes. Served in charmingly laidback surrounds, dishes are packed with the country's best wild food that is native to the UK.

From a River Cottage-trained chef, the Native menu showcases natural, foraged and seasonal ingredients. Dishes evolve with the seasons, but starters may include the likes of wild rabbit and prune pastilla with pickled walnut salad, or smoked pollock croquettes with lovage mayo. For mains, discover dishes like venison rack with spiced cabbage and pommes boulangeres, or flame-grilled clams with ham hock broth and homemade sourdough.

Desserts at Native Covent Garden are no less inventive. Joining a classic English cheese board are twists on favourites, such as pain perdu with basil and lemon curd ice cream.

Tucked away in Neal’s Yard, Native restaurant in London is a 3-minute walk from Covent Garden Tube Station.

Native is a beautiful little tucked away find. It's simple, elegant and the menu is really well composed with a bit of flare.
I've tried both the artichoke & ragou as starters and the venison and hake for mains. Everything was well balanced and well presented with friendly service.

The food was 'out of this world' tasty, really, I was initially worried about the star menu as I felt I did not really have much of a choice and I did not know what a lot of the ingredients were or felt they sounded weird but I had wanted to try the restaurant (with my daughter who loves to eat 'healthily' ) because it was different. In the end we were both really impressed with the wonderful flavours and combinations of ingredients that we were served. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes good food and is not afraid to try something different. The portions were not big in size but were very big in taste. Delicious. The owner/manager made a big effort to explain the dishes which was lovely, she was very passionate about the food. The server was a bit surly but maybe because it is a small place in terms of space and became very busy as the evening went on - when we came at 5pm it was not busy at all.

Interesting tastes and textures. Overall very nice food, well presented and cooked.
Whist the waiter explained our starters to us no one did so for the main course which I would have appreciated.

Employees should be able to explain the menu in several languages.

Fantastic food and lovely service and ambience. The artichoke starter and the rhubarb with rosemary were particular winners for me, while my fellow diners were going nuts for the chocolate dessert (I gave up chocolate for lent - disaster!). Still blown away by the incredibly good value, and also by the fact ants taste of citrus - thanks for the taster! Only bad point was a beer (can't remember which I'm afraid) wasn't to our tasting - far too sour - but may be an acquired taste.

Great service, good atmosphere, really delicious food (I had the veggie options for start and main - both were great). Highly recommended.
