Praised by top critics including Jay Rayner and Grace Dent, Native in Neal’s Yard pairs innovative cooking techniques with a passion for produce, creating a menu of flavour-rich, seasonal dishes. Served in charmingly laidback surrounds, dishes are packed with the country's best wild food that is native to the UK.

From a River Cottage-trained chef, the Native menu showcases natural, foraged and seasonal ingredients. Dishes evolve with the seasons, but starters may include the likes of wild rabbit and prune pastilla with pickled walnut salad, or smoked pollock croquettes with lovage mayo. For mains, discover dishes like venison rack with spiced cabbage and pommes boulangeres, or flame-grilled clams with ham hock broth and homemade sourdough.

Desserts at Native Covent Garden are no less inventive. Joining a classic English cheese board are twists on favourites, such as pain perdu with basil and lemon curd ice cream.

Tucked away in Neal’s Yard, Native restaurant in London is a 3-minute walk from Covent Garden Tube Station.

Had lunch yesterday, the food was fabulous. The starter of crab with duck egg was a triumph. We were served with fresh warm homemade bread and pumpkin seed butter something of a revelation. Wild boar as a main, the meat was succulent and with the rest of the things on the plate going so well together my mouth is watering writing the review. We finished off with a rhubarb & rosemary compote, meadowsweet custard and coriander honeycomb. All this food was washed down with a bottle of English wine, which is nice to have as a choice on a menu. Well done to the chef and the waitresses who were all pleasant and knowledgeable regarding the food I would like to mention especially the Scottish waitress who went out of her way to help us with any questions we had. Thank you. Please be aware that the restaurant is down a spiral staircase

One of the best meals we have had for years. Stunning flavours, carefully and cleverly designed menu. Don't let the snax section pass you by .... wonderful. And the asparagus and ricotta starter was truly taste bud tingling. Desert was a triumph too.

Native is a lovely little place, with the main dining room down the spiral staircase. As its name suggests, the restaurant specialises in native produce and we loved the Brixham crab and Sussex pheasant. Excellent food all round in a lovely friendly place that really is at home in Neal's Yard. We will return.

We had an excellent waitress and it was generally a very welcoming and warm restaurant. The dishes are quite arty but extremely tasty- definitely a restaurant I would return to!

Took the 3 courses for £30 and got a little table by the entrance, which was perfect. Got to see the good being made and it certainly was worth the wait. The black pudding stories were a good touch..
