The venison is to die for! One of our best meals in London while we visited from California.

Praised by top critics including Jay Rayner and Grace Dent, Native in Neal’s Yard pairs innovative cooking techniques with a passion for produce, creating a menu of flavour-rich, seasonal dishes. Served in charmingly laidback surrounds, dishes are packed with the country's best wild food that is native to the UK.

From a River Cottage-trained chef, the Native menu showcases natural, foraged and seasonal ingredients. Dishes evolve with the seasons, but starters may include the likes of wild rabbit and prune pastilla with pickled walnut salad, or smoked pollock croquettes with lovage mayo. For mains, discover dishes like venison rack with spiced cabbage and pommes boulangeres, or flame-grilled clams with ham hock broth and homemade sourdough.

Desserts at Native Covent Garden are no less inventive. Joining a classic English cheese board are twists on favourites, such as pain perdu with basil and lemon curd ice cream.

Tucked away in Neal’s Yard, Native restaurant in London is a 3-minute walk from Covent Garden Tube Station.

Loved it. Delicious food, perfectly presented and good service. Interesting wine list with good range of British wines too. Highly recommended.

    Already recommended to a friend!
    Absolutely delicious food.
I had the venison which was extremely tasty and the cabbage was also amazing!
Loved the dairy crest milk bottled water and the truffles were superb too.
    Food was spot on.
Would have been good to have wifi (but maybe there was and I didn't find it) as no service downstairs.
Service was lovely but could have been a tinsy bit faster in an ideal world though I know it was busy.
Also music was a little loud so speaking to someone hard of hearing in a packed restaurant is a little difficult.

The space itself and staff were lovely, attentive at just the right level. We had high hopes for the food and all start, main and side dishes we had were spot in, really delicious. Slightly disappointed in the dessert options which didn't sing to us in quite the same way but nice elements in all nonetheless. Would definitely return.

We enjoyed a pre theatre dinner at Native and loved every bite. The dishes were original and delicious as well as being well priced.

The food is amazing and the value for money is really good. The dishes looked beautiful and went great with the wine served. I would definitely recommend this place and I would easily return!

Very much enjoyed the atmosphere of Native, and found the dining room very comfortable. The service was impeccable. The food was wonderful, though I found the portion sizes to be mismatched between the mains and desserts. My main was rather small (I had the mallard) but then the chocolate cake dessert was enormous. Both delicious however.

Excellent food - each dish was an interesting mix of local ingredients cooked well and presented beautifully. We sat at the kitchen bar and enjoyed chatting with the chef while watching them prep our dishes.

It was a great experience and meal. Only comment would be not to have parsley on the chocolate and beetroot brownie!
