Holding 2 AA Rosettes for its freshly prepared European cuisine, Morn Hill Brasserie at Holiday Inn Winchester is a contemporary restaurant offering al fresco dining on its courtyard garden terrace. On the edge of Hampshire’s beautiful South Downs, the menu comes courtesy of accomplished head chef Paul Bentley.

Roast Hampshire venison, whisky glazed duck breast and red onion and beetroot tatin are among the decadent choices on the Morn Hill Brasserie menu, along with classic fare of beer-battered haddock and chips and the handmade Morn Hill burger. Aged rib-eye steak, pan-fried sea bass and red pepper and goat’s cheese risotto are also amongst the varied offering.

Treat yourself to a 3-course Morn Hill Sunday lunch, with home cured salmon gravadlax, roast loin of beef and cappuccino crème brulee among the possible temptations. Homely desserts like warm damson tart and bread and butter pudding ensure there’s always something sweet on offer at Morn Hill Brasserie.

Just outside the historic city of Winchester, Morn Hill Brasserie enjoys a stunning location near South Downs National Park. It’s a 9-minute drive from Winchester Train Station.

Afternoon tea was delicious, imaginatively presented and staff very pleasant. No other guests were present so not very atmospheric and no views from the room as restaurant is below ground. would recommend for the afternoon tea but not for the atmosphere.

We have dined at this restaurant on a number of occasions and, without doubt the meal we had on this occasion was one of the best. Tuna starter, followed by the lamb. My wife had fillet steak which was cooker to perfection and superbly presented. All accompanied by an excellent bottle of red. So easy to book on line, The waiter Nick was very friendly, attentive and extremely helpful.

This was our second visit and we'll definitely be back. Everything was delicious and extremely good value for money. Service was excellent too, and all in lovely surroundings. If we didn't live so near would be great to stay the night!

Restaurant busy, good reception, drinks arrived promptly. Ordered food but had to wait longer than normal, assume due to number of diners. Starters arrived excellent presentation and tasted superb. Wait again for main course, we both ordered steak (Friday night special). Mine was very good but my wife`s unfortunately was very grissley, a poor cut in my opinion. My wife told the server who advised she would tell the chef. We had desert and due to number of people dining had to wait to pay, which we did no response regarding steak. I appreciate we were not staying at hotel and priority will be given to those who are but we`ve dined here on a number of occasions with no problem. I wonder if we had been staying whether we would have received a response re the steak.
The restaurant was busy I appreciate a peak period but when dining out of season everything was superb. If other outside diners feel like we do then I suspect they will go elsewhere.

Great and easy to follow online booking system, when we arrived we were greeted and shown promptly to our table, we were offered a choice of tea or coffee when we sat, and very soon after our aternoon tea was brought to the table,.the food was of good standard and there was a nice amount we felt nice and full when we had finished and,..after a short time a polite young man came to the table to ask if we would like top up refreshments and said if there was anything else just to give him a call now that is what I call great service,!! we were left to chat and enjoy our food in peace a truly relaxing afternoon tea I can definatly recommend the beef finger sandwich and lemon cake!

Scones ; were a bit dry .... Could have been avoided if they had been warmed
    Cakes were dull
Sandwiches were as fresh as fresh
    But overall
