Amidst lush gardens and woodland, Moor Hall Hotel & Spa in Sutton Coldfield offers traditional English afternoon tea in its oak-panelled lounge bar or on the covered terrace. With several tempting variations on the afternoon tea theme, the lounge bar also serves sandwiches, sharing platters and light meals.

From tea and scones to the celebration tea with kir royale, the Moor Hall menu has something for all occasions. Swiss rolls, battenberg and almond praline cups accompany speciality teas and freshly ground cafetière coffee.

Chocolate chip scones with clotted cream make the chocolate indulgence afternoon tea even sweeter, as you enjoy the view over Moor Hall’s sweeping lawns. Afterwards, take a wander in the grounds to see the centrepiece sunken garden and newly restored woods.

As well as afternoon tea, the impressive lounge bar serves energising espressos, cappuccinos and lattes, plus hot chocolate and pastries. The Moor Hall Hotel & Spa is a 6-minute drive from Sutton Coldfield Train Station.

lovely food and lovely surroundings did lack atmosphere as we were seated in a room separate from the main room where there was just one other family, there were no tablecloths as there were in the main room where people appeared to be having their afternoon teas so from that point of view I was somewhat disappointed. We had very good service and once the waitress realised it was my Mom's birthday they created a birthday message piped in chocolate which was a really nice touch.

Afternoon Tea overall was very nice, however the service we receive wasnt very good, we were left in a room waiting for 40 mins before anyone came and took an order for drinks we then had to wait a further 20 mins for those drinks to come. We were all not happy that we had to wait an hour for a drink and our food. There was a group of 6 of us which was brought by grandchildren for grandparents for Xmas last year, so it wasn't good they had to wait that long without even a drink. But like I said once food and drink came it was nice

It was a terrible experience there was just one waitress and to many for her to serve. We had to wait 25 minutes so we could order tea we then had to wait 10 minutes for a menu on which afternoon tea we wanted. The service was a little slow considering there weren't many people having afternoon tea. The cost we felt was a little high. Maybe £17.95 for two rather than each. On the whole it was an OK afternoon tea but wished we had just booked for tea and scones.

Very welcoming and extremely helpful! Afternoon tea was amazing and they even offered cake boxes to take any uneaten items home

Beautiful hotel, lots of traditional character, the sun was shining so we ate on the terrace. Very pleasant serving staff but what a disappointment. The cakes were wonderful but the sandwiches were dry (obviously prepared much earlier) and the teapot had a large crack in the lid. The scones were ok but I've had much better. I booked afternoon tea for 3 via 'The afternoon tea guide' web site which clearly states that what I had booked was £10.00 per head. I had printed the page so that there would be no problems but was told this was an old offer and that it was not on line anymore. She suggested that I had printed it on 7th March 2016 (7.3.16) I assured the waitress that I hadn't (i'm not that organised). I then realised that the date on the print out was in the American form. However, I paid the bill at £17.95 per head but when I got home I checked and there in black and white was the advert. I have today tried to telephone the hotel but was told that no-one was available to talk to me as the catering management were all in the restaurant. I will try again later.
