The 9 course tasting menu was exceptional. The suckling pig was the best of the well done items.

Fantastic experience! I would definitely consider this a restaurant for foodies.

One of my sons (16 years old) and I tried Montiel after reading the rave reviews and we were not disappointed. We opted for the a la Carte menu because we had a tight timeline and we each chose a starter, which we shared, and a main. As well, our server brought us a small starter of mussels, walnuts and olives, compliments of the house.

The Ajo Blanco was such an unexpected experience and definitely not to be missed. I will definitely order this next time and this could be shared between 4 people if you ask for side dishes. Don't be concerned about the word "aho (garlic)" in it's name...it's nothing like you would expect and there is actually no garlic taste in the dish at all. The Pumpkin was equally surprising and quite delicious and could be shared easily between 2 people. Our mains were the Mushroom Rice for my son and the Magret (duck) for me. Both were delicious and beautifully presented.

The real treat of the evening was our server. He was so welcoming to the two of us. I had originally booked for 3 but my 18-year-old was ill so he couldn't join us and our server was very understanding. The server suggested wines by the glass to compliment my meal and he was bang on both times. I didn't even look at the list of wines by the glass - I just trusted him. When the bill came I was pleasantly surprised to see that the wine was priced very reasonably. Our main server, along with 2 other servers, were attentive but not overly so, available when we needed them and just so pleasant and knowledgeable about the food and wines.

Before we left, we were given another treat - three small sweets each, all made in house and fantastic.

    I will definitely be back.

The whole experience at Montiel was excellent. From the reception to the explanation of the dishes to the friendly service, we had such a lovely evening. It is not cheap but the food is of the highest quality. What makes this place unforgettable though is the knowledge and attentiveness of the waiters. Would definitely recommend

Excellent service and degustation meal at Christmas. Good wine recommendations and best suckling pig I've ever tasted. I'd go back for that dish alone.

We booked for Christmas lunch, 25/12/16, which served a special tasting menu made with local, Catalan, products. We also chose to have the Catalan wine tasting to make it even a better experience. Our main waiter, Gabi, was excellent, he explained each dish and the accompanied wine. The chef and other staff made it a super tasty afternoon for us and we certainly plan to come back in 2017.
