We had booked a table for 8:30 pm and arrived at 8pm for pre dinner drinks with friends. The restaurant was very busy, With it being Good Friday, and we had to wait to be booked in and given a pager. We proceeded to the bar, which again was very busy, but only appeared to have one barman. I waited 10 minutes to be served drinks. We duly sat and waited for our table, our pager went off at 8:40. I'm not an impatient person and although the waiting wasn't long, I felt a little irritated that there didn't appear to be sufficient staff for such a predictably busy night.
Once we were shown to our table our waiter was attentive and prompt, and the food was very good, steaks cooked perfectly as ordered and everything was nice and hot. We ordered deserts and then were told our selections were not available, on placing orders for an alternative choice, these too were no longer available, so none of us had desert as a result, which was a little disappointing. We then ordered gaelic coffees for the whole table, only to be told there was no pouring cream and would we mind having whipped cream instead, yes that's fine we decided. The manager then came to us and apologised once again as by now they had also run out of whipped cream. We were offered black coffee with a whisky chaser on the house, which we agreed to. All in all looking back quite a few avoidable mistakes.
Having been in catering personally as chef and manager, I understand bad nights happen so didn't make a fuss, and the manager handled it well, Which I would not have expected any less from.

Well I dined their with my sister and daughter the week previous and it was excellent. This time however was not so good. A little quieter than the week before, you would think that it would not be a problem. Took ages to get served at the bar whilst waiting for my guest. When seated the waitress took our order without writing it down. You got it when it came it was wrong with items missing off the order. People came in after us and were finished before us!! So overall not impressed this time...... very disappointing. dined at 5pm which was not in peak time.

Great food we really enjoyed the evening. We waiting far to long for a booked table though. Service for the meal itself was good. The appearance overall of the pub itself is clean and modern though some of the carpet was threadbare and I had to watch my heals.
