Food lovely, staff very friendly and helpful

Well cooked steak, lovely crisp lettuce and a very good if quite expensive Chilean Merlot. The dining experience was very good. However, the bar area where we met and had a pre dinner cocktail was not pleasant. The tables were sticky and previous customers' glasses had not been cleared. The bar lighting was poor, making it seem rather dingy.

We were sat at our table after a little wait , our orders were taken immediately .
We then waited a while before starters arrived at the table .
We then had quite a wait for our main meals , noticing that customers who were seated after us were having their meals before we recieved ours .
I booked here after it being recommended to me over and over , we had Luke warm meals , waited an hour for our food and we were celebrating my mums Birthday .
The Manager was very pleasant and apologetic and handled our dissatisfaction with much empathy , resulting in a discounted bill .

Good steak, not cheap but you get quite a lot for the price. Service unfriendly on this occasion

My husband had steak which he said was excellent. I ordered a salmon dish but it fell well short of good. I appreciate it isn't a fish restaurant but the salmon itself was not good quality. The service was excellent and the surroundings very pleasant.

Our 4th visit to a Miller & Carter, and as with the others, it was a great atmosphere, good food and drinks, making our night out an enjoyable one. Long wait to obtain drinks whilst waiting for our time slot of 7.30 and a long wait for main meal after ordering, but it was all worthwhile. Service with a smile at all times and the staff seem to all genuinely enjoy their jobs! We will continue to visit Miller & Carter establishments, having been to Newcastle, Liverpool, Poole and Cardiff, as the experience is always a good one.
