With a tiled terrace for sun-drenched al fresco dining in the summer, Miller & Carter – Aughton is a laid-back steakhouse serving succulent cuts of beef from sustainable British farms, so every forkful can be traced back to the source. With cosy banquettes, soft lighting and an exposed brick wall, the restaurant boasts a contemporary design and a friendly atmosphere.

The Miller & Carter menu is led by hand-cut, 30-day aged steaks, all carefully sourced from sustainable British & Irish farms, and expertly cooked. Favourite cuts span from a deliciously tender grain-fed sirloin, aged for 50 days for a rich, buttery flavour, to a luxurious sharing chateaubriand. Other Miller & Carter signature dishes include smoky barbecue ribs with seasoned fries & dressed slaw, and lemon & rosemary lamb rump served with dauphinoise potatoes, sautéed exotic mushrooms & tenderstem broccoli.

To finish, sweet indulgences include Miller’s chocolate orange: a shimmering golden globe with ganache and orange toffee. The Miller & Carter cellar is brimming with drinks designed to complement the menu, including chilled draught and bottled beers, crafted cocktails and an impressive wine list of rich reds and sparkling wines.

Just off the A59, Miller & Carter – Aughton is a 3-minute drive from Town Green Rail Station.

Thursday Steak night, although the resteraunt was very busy, we were shown to our table on time we chose the £22.95 three course menu we were please with our starter and my husband with his steak meal. I chose half a roast chicken, which was served with the bones taken out, I found this off putting. I was also disappointed in the lack of choice for healthy options. I would have preferred a choice of Potatoe is - baked Potatoe. Also I would have like a salad, even if I had to pay for it as aside order. I do feel that most restaurants are moving to wards a mix and match theme, which would have incorporated my choices with a main meal. To end the I meal , I would have chosen the cheese board instead of anything sugary. But that wasn't an option. there was also no house wine to choose from so we just got the cheapest , which at £ 16 something We did not consider cheap! As there was no cheese board I chose an Irish coffee, Alas no cream. Would we go. There again? If we had of been mystery diners what would your guess Be?
