Next door to the Beatles Museum, occupying a spot on the historic dock, Miller & Carter – Albert Dock is a steakhouse serving succulent steaks, sourced from sustainable British farms, so every forkful can be traced back to the field. With contemporary interiors, soft lighting and a buzzing, friendly atmosphere, the restaurant boasts views onto Albert Dock.

The Miller & Carter menu is led by hand-cut, 30-day aged steaks, all carefully sourced from sustainable British & Irish farms, and expertly cooked. Favourite cuts span from a deliciously tender grain-fed sirloin, aged for 50 days for a rich, buttery flavour, to a luxurious sharing chateaubriand. Other Miller & Carter signature dishes include smoky barbecue ribs with seasoned fries & dressed slaw, and lemon & rosemary lamb rump served with dauphinoise potatoes, sautéed exotic mushrooms & tenderstem broccoli.

To finish, sweet indulgences include Miller’s chocolate orange: a shimmering golden globe with ganache and orange toffee. The Miller & Carter cellar is brimming with drinks designed to complement the menu, including chilled draught and bottled beers, crafted cocktails and an impressive wine list of rich reds and sparkling wines.

Miller & Carter – Albert Dock in Liverpool is a 9-minute walk from Liverpool James Street Rail Station.

Booked online, no problem. We're kept in touch with email and text reminders, great feature. We'd booked a table for 6 people, ourselves, 2 friends from Scotland and 2 friends from Australia. We were spending the weekend showing them round our city. Arrived at the restaurant where we were showed to a lovely bar lounge for a drink while they finished getting our table ready. The views from the windows overlooking the docks wowed our guests. We sat in a lovely banquet and proceeded to have a lovely meal. Five steaks all cooked to order. I had the salmon which was delicious, lovely crisped skin and well cooked, sitting on mash and a mixture of vegetables on the side. Everyone enjoyed their steaks and there was plenty on the plate and beautifully presented. Staff were excellent, attentive and friendly. Have been here before and would definitely come back again. Our friends were really impressed with the food, restaurant and staff. Only thing that put us if were a bunch of women on the next table, one of them had the loudest voice I've ever heard in my life, so annoying. Even though the restaurant was really busy and full of noise and great atmosphere, you could still hear this screaming banshee over everything else. This was nothing to do with the restaurant or the staff and we did have a great time though. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. Also does a lovely lunchtime menu, which we've sampled on previous visits

The food was really nice, however I think it's a bit pricy for what you get. The service on the other hand was awful. It was clear that the waitresses had their own 'zones' so this resulted in two other waitresses walking past our table and not clearing our plates away. When our designated waitresses finally came over and cleared our plates I asked for the dessert menu. Our waitresses didn't come back to take our dessert order for 25 minutes so I ended up asking a different girl for our bill as I was fed up of waiting. She brought it over sharpish and said she would go and get our waitresses to do the card payment. Again, she was taking that long I gave up paying on card and just ended up leaving cash. In my opinion, they needed more staff and the 'zone' way of working just doesn't work.

The food I think the portions was not good enough compare to other restaurants.

Tables too close together, difficult to get through to toilets when people are serving food too. Steak meal was too small- children's steak ridiculously small- despite paying an extra £2! Waiter, Andy, very good. Sun blazing through windows which I liked but other diners had to move.
