Delay in booking for Sunday lunch so no roast - but had excellent rib eye steak, salad and french fries. Summer berries pudding with Devon double cream.
Obliging staff very busy. Good Pimms!

Featured in The Good Food Guide and named as one of the top 50 gastropubs in the UK, Millbrook Inn Devon is a 16th-century village pub serving French-inspired European cuisine. The emphasis is truly on local produce, with fresh fish a speciality.

The Millbrook Inn menu features creative interpretations of traditional flavours. To start, try layered goats’ cheese mousse with beetroot pickle, cucumber ribbons and a ginger and chili dressing, or the lavish plate of lardons, pig trotter patties, smoked duck breast and poached quail egg. Mains include leg of roe deer with celeriac mousseline, wild mushrooms and red wine jus, and pearl barley risotto with seasonal vegetables and parmesan. Amongst the flavoursome desserts are cardamom pancetta with mango sorbet, and dark chocolate fondant.

Popular as both a pub and a restaurant, Millbrook Inn South Pool serves local ales and world wines from its cosy bar. The pub also hosts regular live music nights.

In the heart of the beautiful Devon countryside, Millbrook Inn South Devon is a 30-minute drive from Dartmouth.

This gorgeous, traditional, cosy pub has amazing food cooked by a French chef, yes France meets Devon! Not a big selection but carefully selected mains, the pork was a surprise and very tasty, cooked 3 ways. I was told the duck was also tasty and great presentation.
We had starters which were tasty, we would. Have liked more choice in starters.
The desserts are clever and so naughty, great selection! We also share a cheese board, very nice with great choice of cheeses.
The pub offers a good choice of wines beers etc and some local drinks!
The four of us had a great night, amazing food, with great service, we live in Stroud and can't wait to visit Salcombe so we can experience Mr French Chef again!
The pub is a secret little place, very dreamy.
    Thank you Mr Chef!

We really enjoyed our meal and have been here before. However two out of four of us were vegetarian and we would have appreciated some choice in the main courses. There was no vegetarian starter on the menu and it was only by chance that we asked and were told that we could have a walnut and goats cheese salad. Our experience in Bristol is that if there are say 6 mains 2 of them will be vegetarian. Many of our friends will also choose these options even if they are not vegetarian themselves. Overall the food was very good. The waitresses were very friendly but there was too long a wait for the main course. The pub has a lot of character and is very attractive.

Food very good (boullaibaisse, octopus, etc) with a French twist. Wine list good. Beer also good. Service very good though possibly a little over fussy at times.
