Nestled in an historic courtyard, Mews of Mayfair is a restaurant and bar that is both elegant and eccentric. Served from converted 18th-century mews houses, the brasserie menu adds global influences to classic British dishes.
The Mews of Mayfair menu is full of rich, British flavours. Try the venison burger with gin and redcurrant chutney, rib of beef with potato and liquorice, or Cornish sea bass with leeks and peanuts. Carefully sourced British meat is a key feature of the menu, no more so than in the broad range of steak options, with all the British beef dry-aged for a minimum of 35 days. Fresh fish is also abundant, with traditional fish and chips, and the Mews fish pie adding to the market fish of the day options.
Decked out with extravagant chandeliers and large leather sofas, the Mews of Mayfair bar boasts an impressive wine list and an array of signature cocktails. Outdoor seating is also available in the cobbled courtyard.
Offering peaceful elegance amidst the buzz of Mayfair, Mews of Mayfair London is a 6-minute walk from Oxford Circus Tube Station.

The overall experience was poor. When we arrived no one knew where we were meant to sit, it turned out in the end we were in another building (not named "Mews of Mayfair). We were taken to our table and were served tea. We then waited for 20 minutes until the food was served. There was one female waiter who was extremely polite but was the only one running around working hard. People who arrived after us received their food first. The food was poor. We were both hungry and had it, however, you can get better sandwiches from Tescos. The dessert had a warm scone but the rest was tiny cut up pieces of what appeared to be shop bought youle. It was our 5 year anniversary celebration and possibly the worst afternoon tea we ever attended. The facility it self was poor, no cloakroom so we were told to hang out coates over the booth.

We went for afternoon tea in November.

I took my wife for surprise afternoon tea which was my first time. We arrived and it was very cold weather and despite booking in advance they put us inside by the door. It took 20mins to be served tea and another 20mins to be served the food. After 30mins we were finally given a blanket for our laps which was very disappointing.
The sandwiches and scones were good except half of one of my wife's sandwich was half empty. The tea was served in plastic tea pots which we felt was cheap for the experience and price you pay. It didn't stay warm for long and we had to ask for hot water to warm it up and give us a decent serving.
The walls of the restaurant are covered in black marker pen designs of London which looked disgusting and dirty. We wanted to take a nice photo together but the walls in the background didn't give a good look.
The price £32.50pp is cheaper than a lot of other places but at the bill they slapped us with 12.5% service charge which I wasn't expecting; the service was pretty basic to be honest!
Nice place but we won't be back sorry, what you pay is what you get.

Excellent, apart from the sandwiches being a bit dry around the ages.

Is a stylish restaurant/bar, very cosy atmosphere, friendly staff. Had a great afternoon tea!

Room too dark and the sandwich element of the afternoon tea, considering the cost, was very disappointing in terms of only three very small items in the sandwich component.

The food was fantastic, however the wait for the food was not great, the service was shocking, the lady was not friendly whatsoever, she did not bother if we required anything more. Once the food arrived did not come back to check if all was ok. We did not even get a goodbye
