The restaurant was well laid out, nicely decorated, oozing class and did not seem to suffer from the building work around it.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Mercante at The Sheraton Park Lane brings a fresh take on Italian dining to Mayfair. Packed with seasonal produce, dishes are served in the large indoor dining room or on the south-facing terrace.

Created by head chef Davide D’ignazio, the Mercante restaurant menu draws upon his experience at top Michelin-starred restaurants in Rome. Various Italian regions are reflected in dishes such as roast pigeon risotto, handmade gnocchi with roast duck ragu, and sautéed mussels and clams.

Finish a meal at Mercante Piccadilly with rich desserts like prosecco semifreddo with sour cherries, or a classic tiramisù. The wine list offers bottles from across Italy, whilst Italian wines and classic cocktails are also served.

Showcasing authentic Italian produce, Mercante London sits on the edge of Green Park, a short stroll from both Green Park and Hyde Park Corner Tube stations.

Staff were very friendly and manager sent us a dairy free menu via email prior to us arriving for one of our diners. Availed of the free Aperol which was nice and ordered a good Aglianico bottle of wine to go with our meal.
Food was decent - not spectacular - the rabbit was very tasty but the tongue lacked flavour. Service was painfully slow, which was surprising considering there was only a handful of us in the restaurant. Took ages to bring out wine glasses after they served us the wine bottle, olives after we ordered it and the broccoli side dish came after we finished all our other plates.
Overall, we left quite happy with the whole evening but agreed they need to improve on service.

Excellent food and service . All food we tried was delicious from chicken to meat balls to Olives and Aubergines. Will be back - felt like real Italy ...
