My wife and I were dining at the MEADOW FARM with three friends, and we were meeting-up for a pre-christmas gathering, so we were pleased that our table was marked as reserved, after my online booking. The table was in a very open and pleasant section of the restaurant, so we sat down and were well pleased. The waitress, ( who I have not noted her name,) came over and was very jolly and patient with us, as we took a long time to decide what we wanted. The order was given and the food arrived quite quickly. The food was very good and some of us had desserts, as well as drinks, and we were very satisified with the whole experience. Well done to the staff, ( both in the bar, restaurant and of course, the kitchen.

Meal was ok apart from the usual soggy and flabby onion rings which accompany the steak. I would find it hard not to cook an onion ring so that it was crispy! Out waitress was over-familiar and kept calling us 'my lovelies' which we all found condescending and really irritating. I wonder would she have said that if we were in our twenties and not our sixties?? Service was slow due to a big party booking.

Normally we get a very good meal from meadow farm however this time it was not. The rump steak I had was like rubber. I could not chew it. I don't complain so I put up with it. The rest of the meal was fine.

Visited with husband, daughter and son in law to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Table was clean and tidy, all members of staff were really nice and helpful. Starter was quick and hot, very good. We all had steak, and everyone of them was excellent. Only disappointment was that I wanted salmon, but they had none. However chef did offer to do me a swordfish salad, or fish and chips, without the batter. My daughter and son in law were even given a bottle of wine as a celebration.
