The McKenzie’s menu ranges from moreish light bites to steaks, burgers, Italian specialities and Sunday roasts. McKenzies is a beautiful venue and the food was excellent. While the staff were very friendly, the service initially was very slow and our drinks only arrived at the same time as our starters. The restaurant was pretty empty but three tables remained uncleared with dirty glssses etc from earlier during the day. The bar area was also swamped with dirty glasses so that there was no clear surface and this is what you see when you first walk in. I couldn't tell that anyone was supposed to be in charge during the evening. I feel that standards should have been higher and as a result won't be rushing back.

Went for a family meal in December 2016. Restaurant decor was lovely and light loved the wooden beams and huge chandelier. The food was absolutely superb. Pan fried sea bass was delicious and the panna cotta was out of this world! All four of us really enjoyed our meals. Staff very friendly. Great relaxed atmosphere.

Well, where to start. Arrived and shown to the wrong table, moved to the correct table. There were 4 of us who had pre-ordered from the Christmas menu. Sat waiting nobody came for drinks order. Ordered drinks and the starters arrived, finished starters and the drinks then arrived. We then waited over an hour for our main course (the restaurant was not busy) . Ordered more drinks while waiting, waited ages for them, when they did come the 2 cocktails were not what was ordered. Mains arrived (hurray) food was average, my friends beef wellington had hardly any beef inside, this was pointed out to a waiter and another separate piece of steak was brought. After another lengthy wait the sweets arrived which to be fair were all nice. Staff did apologise and made a reduction on the bill. All in all a terrible night.
