the meal was very nice pleasant atmosphere th e only criticism is we had to call the waitress several times to ask for items to be removed from the table such as lobster shells etc and wasnt asked if we wanted to order any more drinks or sweet it took so long we run out of time so had to leave for the theatre,I would however go back and try again as the food was very good.thankyou

We lunched at the Mayfair Exchange on "Black Friday" but it was anything but a "Black" Lunch. Steak & Lobster with Champagne (£25). Both steak and Lobster were cooked as we would wish. The "Exchange" is very atmospheric, Service was excellent, and we shall return.

Food was excellent but service was abysmal. Had to wait 40mins for starters to arrive

Despite the place heaving with pre Christmas revellers, the service was excellent and the food top notch, would definitely recommend this place and will be going back.

The steak was rather dry and no finger bowl was given with the lobster...

Booked the steak, lobster and champagne deal and felt like a second class citizen because of it. The service was atrocious and food cold.
Was sat in a side room which was good as the music so loud in main part but it meant you could never get the staffs attention. We were not even offered a menu for starters and had to find the staff to order some wine. My steak was undercooked but portions nice and tasty but cold. Wine was lovely. No waitress came to check how our food was so I couldn't send it back and couldn't ask for condiments. Managed to get hold of a dessert menu. Specifically asked no custard and it came swimming in it! Asked for the bill. 30 minutes later with empty glasses still no sign so physically had to go and find someone! Massive dissapointment!

Quite dissappointed to be honest. Despite reading reviews ahead and preparing for some noise from the bar we did not expect to be sitting right by the bar with a lound group of Americans right next to us. Next it took some 45 min for the steak and lobster to arrive and once we tucked in it turned out not impressive either. The lobster was bit rubbery and the steak nothing special. I would not go again. It sounds like a deal money wise but if you really care about good food it's better to pay bit more somewhere else.

It shows how important service is. Whether my impressions were dented by; having to point out my name on the reservation list, been shown to the wrong table, being asked how I wanted my steak within 60 secs of sitting down, no menu to see sides, not being given one of the sides that were ordered, on requesting it again being told it was under the salad! having to ask for sauces, on asking for mustard being given mayo I am unsure. Perhaps a steak knife for steak on a steak promo would be a good idea. Overall not blown away.

The Mayfair Exchange is a Wine Bar situated in the heart of London, Mayfair. On arrival we were greeted by a very loud, noisy crowd having Thursday is the new Friday night drinks. This would have been great if that's what we were out for but it wasn't. Anyway we were rather relieved to be led to an extremely small (3 tables) break out nook (my partner called it the claustrophobic tunnel) that was rather cosy. Anyway we had the Bookatable - 1/2 Lobster, 8oz Steak and Champagne combo. The Lobster (no lobster cracker or pick were provided initially, only when the waitress saw me struggling to get the goodness out of the claw did she provide a cracker) was ever so slightly overcooked and I ordered a Steak cooked medium which came as well done. I didn't complain as I was hungry and I thought my partner's supper would be well and truly over and done if I had to wait for a new one. As the meat quality was good I did not need my "Jaws Molars" to execute chewing. Perhaps I had lowered my usual standards for the evening by not expecting too much!!! I don't know should I have expected more for a Lobster, Steak & Champagne supper at a cost of £25. Anyway I am a good natured individual and we even left a tip.....Would I go again?...yes but only for the Champagne not for the food.
