Cosy restaurant, attentive service, amenable atmosphere, well presented food which lived up to expectation as far as lobster & steaks go. All in all a dining experience worth repeating but just missing a little of the gastronomic magic to fulfil 5star rating.

The Mayfair Exchange is a Wine Bar situated in the heart of London, Mayfair. On arrival we were greeted by a very loud, noisy crowd having Thursday is the new Friday night drinks. This would have been great if that's what we were out for but it wasn't. Anyway we were rather relieved to be led to an extremely small (3 tables) break out nook (my partner called it the claustrophobic tunnel) that was rather cosy. Anyway we had the Bookatable - 1/2 Lobster, 8oz Steak and Champagne combo. The Lobster (no lobster cracker or pick were provided initially, only when the waitress saw me struggling to get the goodness out of the claw did she provide a cracker) was ever so slightly overcooked and I ordered a Steak cooked medium which came as well done. I didn't complain as I was hungry and I thought my partner's supper would be well and truly over and done if I had to wait for a new one. As the meat quality was good I did not need my "Jaws Molars" to execute chewing. Perhaps I had lowered my usual standards for the evening by not expecting too much!!! I don't know should I have expected more for a Lobster, Steak & Champagne supper at a cost of £25. Anyway I am a good natured individual and we even left a tip.....Would I go again?...yes but only for the Champagne not for the food.

Friendly and cosy. Helpful, attentive staff. Delicious champagne. Really great steak and chips. Lobster was disappointing.

Very noisey bar adjacent to dining area. Food good, champagne not as chilled as I would like. Great for party crowd but not for intimate dining

Went on the steak & lobster with champagne deal for £25 which was excellent value for money. The portions were generous, food was perfectly cooked & service faultless. Would definitely recommend

Very enjoyable. Steak had good flavour and glass of champagne on arrival made it a good deal. We went on Tuesday and loved the jazz pianist/singer.

The waitress was very courteous when I arrived and immediately helped me to my seat. I was earlier than my friend so I ordered a glass of champagne to sip on while I waited. It was chilled and delicious. When my friend arrived we were asked how we wanted our steak cooked and it didn't take long till our food arrived. The stead was really tender and the lobster delicious, and everything tasted so wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. If they would have presented the dishes better aesthetically we probably would have been even more impressed. The steak, lobster, salad and fries all came in one plate... but everything was piping hot and delicious so not enough to put a dent on our lunch. I highly recommend this place as a nice get together for friends or a lunch time power meeting.
