Formerly named The Abbeville, May The Fifteenth was winner of Time Out's Best New Local Restaurant 2012. This wonderfully charming bistro changes its menu daily, and serves wines from small producers.
Celebrated creativity goes into the May The Fifteenth menu, with exciting changes made every day. Bold European flavours feature throughout, starting with small plates like grilled carrots, dandelion, cobnuts and ricotta, as well as pork and prune terrine. There are options like Cornish Jack crab with chips and mayo on the mains list, as well as sharing specialities such as suet-crusted steak and Guinness pie.
British dessert recipes are given gourmet makeovers at May The Fifteenth Clapham, including chocolate pot with shortbread, and buttermilk pudding with poached pear, damson and hazelnuts. The wine selection is a real highlight, and there are also craft beers from small suppliers, and inventive cocktails.
An intimate setting for wholesome European flavours, May The Fifteenth London is a Clapham dining hotspot, and sits 10 minutes' walk from Clapham South Tube Station.

Lovely little restaurant on Abbeville Road. The food was absolutely delicious, I would recommend the sharing mains especially the lamb which was cooked to perfection. The only small thing I would say is that we were sat right next to the door, which would not stay shut and we kept having to get up and close it as people came in and out of the restaurant. Apart from that it was excellent.

Generally ALL the dishes are good/delicious. And substantial enough for sharing. We've visited several times and so far favourites have been the lamb and Octopus and mussels with saffron potatoes. Yesterday ate fab cuttlefish, mussels, beans to start - seriously good. Staff are v friendly and attentive. When busy though, the restaurant is incredibly noisy. Larger parties can impact the enjoyment of other diners. Decor could be more interesting - how about some picture/posters relating to countries of origin of the food. Rustic tables/chairs are fine but stripped back walls/floors contribute to poor noise quality. Can you find room for coffee machine out of earshot of diners?

Very enjoyable dinner, the lamb was amazing. Went on Valentines Day and the restaurant provides complimentary aperitifs which was a nice touch.

Excellent. The Swaledale Lamb is our firm favourite, way better than any pub roast.
