The waiter was very attentive, although we did have to wait a while between courses even though there was hardly anybody in the restaurant. We had the set Christmas menu and the meals were nice except the top of the yorkshire puddings were burnt. I was disappointed that there was a gratuity charge on top of the meal. There were 3 of us and the gratuity was £7.86,which I thought was a bit excessive, this brought the bill up to £86.34. We have dined here quite a few times and the meals have always been nice but there has not been a gratuity charge before.

After booking, i went on Trip advisor, a whole lot of bad reports were left and having been before and had a few problems i was worried.
However it was a nice experience.
I started saying to the waitress i have read that the staff and service and food is terrible.
However you are going to prove them wrong arn't you and she said YES!!!!
she did too, Soup for both of us with fresh bread and nice butter good.
Pork and Beef lovely with enough vegetables.
Desserts lovely and homemade too, we left a good tip and only down side was paying 4.95 for a bottle of water something i do is just have Tap water, we are the only country in the world with good water so WHY WASTE MONEY, But my friend bought it.
restaurant over way charges 2.00 for same brand of water but it was nice and value for money in a beautiful setting!1
will go again and recommend to others.

Friendly helpful staff, although had to ask 3 times for water, crab fishcakes were more like potato cakes and had to pay for side dishes with i don't like. There is choice on the menu however for more reasonably priced dishes but we probably won't rush back.

Waiter was lovely, not too intrusive but very polite and efficient. Food excellent and good value for money. A mistake on our final bill was quickly rectified.

Lovely staff. Food very good but not fond of my fish being served on piece of wood! I know it's trendy but prefer a plate.
