You definitely can't fault the quality or price of the food. It is a beautifully styled restaurant. The downside was the young, inexperienced staff who always seemed a step behind. The plates were not the most practical. One ladies dinner slipped off the plate onto the floor before it even got to the table! Early Bird menu which was advertised was not available, asked why and was told there were 'issues' with it, whatever that means!!! Food lovely apart from bread rolls which were rather stale. Had breakfast the following day, buffet style, which again was good value and of high quality.

We were a party of 8. All of us found the starters to be bland. All thought the main course was not hot enough. One bowl of veg between 8, which meant by the time it reached the 6th, 7th, and 8th person it was cold. A staff member heard us talking about this and brought a second bowl of veg. The staff were very helpful and brought us hot gravy to warm up our food. Based on this experience we would not recommend the restaurant to a friend (however in the past we have always enjoyed our food at Maxines).

Food was excellent and good value.Service was slightly lacking.Wine was brought to table in ice bucket, but no-one came back to pour it,or check we were happy with
it .The wine was good, but there was no napkin provided and consequently, the bottle dripped water over the table when we poured it.There was no waiting staff around for a while,so perhaps they were shrt-staffed that evening. However, overall it was an enjoyable night out.

Overall meal satisfactory, however for the main course we ordered turkey and were quite disappointed in the turkey roll which was served. It was tasty but seemed to have very little turkey content. Xmas pudding was delicious.

The waiter was very attentive, although we did have to wait a while between courses even though there was hardly anybody in the restaurant. We had the set Christmas menu and the meals were nice except the top of the yorkshire puddings were burnt. I was disappointed that there was a gratuity charge on top of the meal. There were 3 of us and the gratuity was £7.86,which I thought was a bit excessive, this brought the bill up to £86.34. We have dined here quite a few times and the meals have always been nice but there has not been a gratuity charge before.
