In addition to the St. Peter's Church in Nordrhein-Westfalen, the restaurant Mausefalle attracts with classic regional cuisine which is characterised by modern influences. Hearty Ruhr cuisine is shown on the seasonally changing menu as well as daily specials highlighting the diversity of regional foods.

Among the offerings of the Mausefalle is the highly recommended 'prime rib' with a chard and rocket salad, tomatoes, soft cheese and pine nuts. Fish lovers can feast on roasted cod, cooked with celery and wild garlic mashed potatoes. The quark mousse with pineapple is a very tasty dessert that completes the dining experience perfectly.

The restaurant's atmosphere is quiet and cosy that invites guests to enjoy and relax. In the summer, you can dine out on the beautiful terrace of the Mausefalle, where the food and specialty drinks taste particulary good.

Guests need to take only a 4 minute walk from the tram station Kaiserplatz to Mausefalle. After dinner you can take a walk on the Ruhr to explore the interesting city of Mülheim.

    Zum ersten Mal war ich nicht zufrieden . Die Zitrone zum Wiener Schnitzel war zu dünn und man konnte nicht träufeln. Es fehlte auch etwas Preiselbeermarmelade. Der warme Kartoffel-/Gurkensalat war lieblos gemischt und nicht gewürzt .

    Absolut köstliche Speisen und Getränke, zuvorkommender und sehr freundlicher Sevice, sehr sauber und eine ausgesprochen angenehme Atmosphäre. Besonders empfehlenswert!

    Beleuchtung am Tisch zu dunkel. Musik von der Art etwas nervig. Eingang an den Toiletten riecht und auch Küchengeruch im Lokal stärker. Gruß aus der Küche, Suppe und Hauptgericht(Fisch) top. Das Brot und das Dessert fielen hingegen etwas ab.

    My report is mixed. Two of us came and we ordered Himmel und Aard and soup for starters, and Cod roulade on barley and Schwein Haxe for mains, with a Moelmsch beer. Each of the items was very delicious, but each also had a failure. The bread was wonderfully fresh and tasty and had clearly been baked on site, but was oversalted and the olive oil on the table was bitter and sharp. The soup had wonderful flavours but strongly oversalted. The Himmel und Aard was tender and very tasty, but the main flavour of the sauce was salt. The cod had the most astonishingly flavoured carrots (were they marinated in cloves and fennel or is that the flavour of the carrots themselves) but one of the carrots had clearly been sitting on a shelf for days, and the parsnip was very very stringy and woody. The Schwein Haxe had over half cm of the surface dried out and toughened.I have been told that a crust is usual for Haxe, but even so I feel it was carried to extreme in this case. However, in both the main courses, the salt level was good. I do not know if our complaint about the starters got back to the chef but they were not oversalted. The potato wedges with the Haxe were wonderful (hot-- about 80C inside when delivered to the table, and perfectly fried) and the cold coleslaw/sauerkraut was a great contrast to the rest. Had each of the course not had some problem, it would have been an amazing meal which we would have remembered for a long time, since in spite of the problems, some really wonderful flavours came through. There is great skill in the kitchen, but also some carelessness.

    The waiters were very friendly and helpful. The physical space was wonderful, with all the beams and multiple levels it made looking around an adventure throught the meal. It gave a very interesting and comfortable feel to the space, and also meant that only the sounds came from the very nearest tables on the same level.

    I have recommend to a friend, but with warning.
