Fab food and service

Nice food. Waiter a little bit 'in your face'. The bill was wrong with an extra drink being added at a cost of £5.50 yet when the revised bill came back it had reduced by £10 so I don't know what else had been added incorrectly. The head waiter then had a go at the other waiter for getting it wrong even though we said not to. He apologised to us but I'm not sure whether it was an act or not.

Very good food, but I found the 2nd waiter we had was a bit rude. I also didn't like the fact that service charge was applied before the discount

We had a veg and non-veg Thali, delicious. Washed down with an excellent house white.

Worst restaurant I have been to!!
We went for a date on a lunch time offer. We arrived and were greeted by an elderly Gentleman who was abrupt.
We sat and waited a good while to be served. Meanwhile the place was deserted no other tables were seated.
The tv was on playing the football on a radio station, very loud.
The decor was tired and the chairs looked filthy and old.
When the gentleman came back we were given the options of meats or veg curry, he didn't give us the option of which curry. We were given the option of red or white wine without any other option.
We ordered starter and again he basically told us what to have. ("do you like chicken? you can have chicken") I also ordered poppadoms, and a bottle of water.
The starter was ok, but my partners onion bhaji was stale and obviously reheated. The waiter (the elderly gentleman) came and cleared my plate before we were both finished without asking.
When the main came out the waiter was texting on his phone in one hand with food in the other.
The main was ok nothing special but was barely enough to be called a meal, the rice was dry with no flavor. The naan (which we were given no choice over) was underdone and dripping with grease and again tasteless.
Not once did he come and checked we had what we wanted, but just stood in the corner of the room and stared at us, he never once asked if we were ok with loud football that must have been on for him. All this made my partner very uncomfortable, so after the very disappointing main, she wanted to leave. We asked for the bill, and although we had pre-paid for a three course meal we were not asked about dessert.
Looking at the bill we had been charged over £2 for 2 poppadoms, and over £3 for a bottle of water which is extortionate, BUT the worst was that he put £4.50 service charge for a lunch time service with no-one else in the place when he was rude. I wanted to make a fuss but my partner was desperate to leave.
