Firmly holding a Michelin star since 2006, Masons Arms blends classic pub charm and exquisite fine dining delicacies. Set in a 13th-century thatched cottage, owner and chef Mark Dodson brings 12 years’ experience working under Michel Roux.

Transforming honest, locally sourced ingredients into flawless creations, the Masons Arms menu showcases superb culinary skill. Crisply presented Masons restaurant dishes include monkfish loin wrapped in prosciutto with potato puree, or roulade of pork belly, braised red cabbage and apple compote.

Innovative twists for dessert include rhubarb trio or chocolate parfait and mandarin sorbet, or enjoy dainty macarons, homemade fudge and rich coffee. Guests can enjoy a sterling international wine list sourced from boutique growers either in the quaint, farmhouse-style dining room, or out on the lush terrace during summer.

A gem set in the heart of the Devonshire countryside, Masons Arms Knowstone was awarded the prestigious accolade of Michelin’s Pub of the Year in 2010.

The restaurant was extremely well presented in a beautiful village setting. The reception was warm friendly and very welcoming. We had the set lunch menu which was extremely well priced with limited but interesting choices. The food was excellent with friendly efficient and professional service. The wine recommendations for the set menu were very good although the white wine could have been a degree or two cooler.
Overall a great dining experience and a restaurant we have no hesitation in recommending.
This is a little gem that we shall look forward to visiting on a regular basis.
I ccsnnot make a comment regarding dinner but the á la carte menu looks interesting, well priced, and if as good as the set lunch, certainly will not disappoint.

A little disappointing, considering the good reviews this restaurant has had. The staff were lovely and the service excellent; however, I found my main dish of turbot to be lacking in flavour, as though perhaps it had been frozen and then defrosted in a hurry. On reflection, it might have been better to have chosen the table d'hote menu rather than the a la carte.

How delightful to sit in the pretty restaurant and gaze out of the window at the green fields of Devon with sheep and cows grazing. Our daughter and grandson from Johannesburg were enchanted. We were then treated to excellent friendly service and the most fantastic food imaginable. This was not our first visit to The Masons Arms, and it certainly won't be our last. A totally delightful experience all round

The food was amazing and they were very welcoming. A very relaxing experience, beautiful countryside and a lovely building with a charming bar area. Here you can unwind before your meal. Will be visiting again.
