Firmly holding a Michelin star since 2006, Masons Arms blends classic pub charm and exquisite fine dining delicacies. Set in a 13th-century thatched cottage, owner and chef Mark Dodson brings 12 years’ experience working under Michel Roux.

Transforming honest, locally sourced ingredients into flawless creations, the Masons Arms menu showcases superb culinary skill. Crisply presented Masons restaurant dishes include monkfish loin wrapped in prosciutto with potato puree, or roulade of pork belly, braised red cabbage and apple compote.

Innovative twists for dessert include rhubarb trio or chocolate parfait and mandarin sorbet, or enjoy dainty macarons, homemade fudge and rich coffee. Guests can enjoy a sterling international wine list sourced from boutique growers either in the quaint, farmhouse-style dining room, or out on the lush terrace during summer.

A gem set in the heart of the Devonshire countryside, Masons Arms Knowstone was awarded the prestigious accolade of Michelin’s Pub of the Year in 2010.

Excellent as always. Extremely friendly knowledgeable staff. Excellent service. Food wonderful, all six meals - starters and mains exceptional. Very cosy environment in a lovely setting. We have been a number of times now for special occasions and have never been disappointed. My brother and wife from Luxembourg who eat at wonderful restaurants all over the world love it.

We had a lunch as a birthday treat before traveling g to Lynton. The Mason arms is a gorgeous old pub in the middle of nowhere. We had a lovely welcome, Sat in a snug while orders were taken and the table laid. Husband had the ling starter which was the best starter he had ever had. We later learned that it was an award winning dish for a young chef. He then had the beef main and I had the risotto, both meals were cooked really well and presented beautifully. Will definitely visit again. Next time with family or friends.

The food is always beautifully presented and tastes terrific. The menu is small but has changes regularly so there is always something a bit different. Portion size is just right and desserts are divine.

Our second visit to the Mason's Arms and yet again a fantastic meal. This visit was for Sunday lunch and we will not hesitate to go back very soon. I had the marinated salmon which was a winner, the Japanese flavours were amazing and the salmon just melted in my mouth complimented by crispy noodles. My wife had the chicken liver parfait which was equally delicious. For mains both of us went for the roast beef which was perfectly medium rare, accompanied by imaginative veg and the best red wine gravy :). Our toddler came along too and we reluctantly shared our food with him, [@]who served our table was very accommodating with plastic cutlery and dishes :). Thank you so much, we will be back :)
