A wonderful dining experience. The staff were excellent and the food was well above expectations, beautifully presented and very tasty

Excellent. Attentive but unobtrusive service by staff who were calm and relaxed. Loved my Sea Bass and Pear starter. Very comfortable surroundings. Great decor. The vegetarian and gluten free additional options we requested were most appreciated. A very positive experience and reasonably priced for such fine food.

A very nice evening. Nice looking, small restaurant. Staff and service were very good. It was a good menu and had a lot of promise. For me, possibly a little limited, would have liked an extra couple of choices for each course.
The food for me was a little bland and portion sizes were too small. Would have been okay if it were a 6 course meal. I even went home hungry! The chocolate dessert was delicious, but for £8 the chocolate parfait measured around 15-20mm wide x 40-50mm tall and long with a large teaspoon size caramel mousse. It was finished in 4-5 spoons. I was really looking forward to it but felt disappointed when I saw the size.
Re: the flavour, I had duck for main with celeriac. Celeriac is a lovely, distinctive flavour and would have been lovely with the duck but it was hidden when created as puree. The duck itself was cooked beautifully. Again with the quail starter, for me there wasn't a stand out, "oh my god" flavour. It was just nice.
All in all, would I go back? Yes, but not in any hurry and once they improve portion sizes. It just felt like there was something missing, something that stops it from being a great restaurant. To describe it in one word. Nice. I like to judge a restaurants value for money by quality of food v price. Out of 5 I would give this a 3.
I ate at a restaurant earlier in the year at the Royal Albert Hall, we paid similar prices (the service wasn't great) but the food was incredibly flavoursome and portion sizes were spot on.
Loved the idea of the little macaroon samples. It felt like you were trying out new ideas on customers which I loved, although I saw some reviews of people receiving these same macaroons 5 months ago! Maybe not new ideas but nice touch.

3rd visit to the Market Bistro - that in itself is sufficient endorsement. The food is always good with an interesting selection of wines available. The best part? Owners who know their business and are passionate about giving diners a good experience.

Excellent food. All three courses were a delight. (If I had a criticism, the duck was slightly overcooked). Polite, friendly service.

We have dined here a number of times and on all occasions it has been excellent. The atmosphere of the restaurant is welcoming and the staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. On the plate the food is beautifully presented and the flavours do not disappoint. For example, on our recent visit the pork dish was locally sourced, succulent and tender. My dessert, tarte au citron with a house made sorbet, was a delightful way to finish the meal. I must mention also the excellent fresh baked sour dough bread.
