The eponymous 2 Michelin-starred restaurant from revered chef Marcus Wareing, Marcus is the sophisticated dining space of The Berkeley hotel in Knightsbridge. After 10 glorious years as Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley, the restaurant underwent a major renovation, and a name change, to reopen as a more relaxed and contemporary environment.

Serving modern European cuisine rooted in British culture, the Marcus menu presents sumptuous offerings like Galloway beef with potato, cabbage, marrow and short rib, and turbot with Dorset snails, shallot and gnocchi. There’s a creative vegetarian selection offering bold combinations such as burrata with nettles and pine nuts, while an 8-course tasting menu can be partnered with fine wines selected by the sommelier.

Innovative tasting plates feature on the lunch menu at Marcus in London, while an elegant 3-course selection includes the option of ordering just a single course. Providing the perfect balance between sophistication and relaxation, the restaurant interior is characterised by clean, classical lines and a refined colour palette.

Marcus is in Wilton Place, a 4-minute walk from Knightsbridge Tube Station and a 5-minute walk from Hyde Park Corner Tube Station.

We had a fantastic time at Marcus. Loved the unusual way of writing the menu - detailing ingredients rather than describing the dish, which meant that each dish was a surprise. We had the tasting menu. Loved the carrot starter and the scallops and the desserts were divine. The scottish waiter who served us was lovely, very helpful and very friendly.

Lunch at Marcus was beautiful. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing and it was a wonderful experience. The service was warm, friendly and inviting of all our questions, the sommelier knowledge was impressive and although I was worried 8 courses would be too much, we finished every last one! Would highly recommend, although at £500 for 2 for lunch, we might be saving it for special occasions only!

We have been to quite a few 'celebrity chef' restaurants. This one was comparatively disappointing. The food was well prepared, tasty and beautifully cooked but did not seem to be particularly special nor exciting. We found it to be comparatively expensive too. Staff were well trained but a little over attentive. Portion sizes were good and menu choices varied. Nice surroundings. Just left us a little uninspired. The email we received also said Marcus would see us to our table. Well he didn't, which is no problem but don't say it then!

We dined for Christmas Day Lunch. The experience, meal and accompanying matched wines were memorably good. The only error in the meals' delivery was late arrival of the jus for the goose (main dish) and of he vegetables. However regrettable this was, it was not destructive for us. Service was pleasant an impeccable' fine-dining arrangements of linen and cutlery entirely satisfactory. Furniture comfortable, and reception to departure courteous and good humoured. In booking I regarded the prospect as expensive @ 375 GBP per head + costs of selected water (Evian) and arriving champagne. It was not expensive - the quality made Christmas Day in a foreign city far from one, very comfortable indeed. Well done.

Lovely restaurant, food was stunning and delicious. Quite annoying to be kept waiting for our table. Several empty tables so couldn't fathom why.

An amazing fine dining experience - We try to dine here at least once a year, and enjoy the ambiance service and of course the food. We were not disappointed. The dining room was the busy - at near full cover capacity, yet service timing and food presentation was spot on point. Our usual sommelier Michel was not present - however his counter part was more than helpful in pairing our wine selection without breaking the corporate bank - The a la carte menu was balanced of good potion size, oh so flavoursome and beautifully presented - The Herdwick lamb was divine Thank you for making special arrangements for the gluten intolerant diner - much appreciated
There was a real seasonal buzz the the place - ( a smattering of festive sweaters did detract ones eye from the subtle decor and lighting!) Slight down side - the man who's name is over the door was not present, ( now becoming a regular feature when a name becomes a brand and tv and other commitments prevail) - So...COMPLEMENTS to the exec Chef and their team who managed in absence - should he/she choose to set up else where please keep us posted!!
WAS £500+ meal + drinks for 2 worth it - YES!!

We had the 5 course set lunch menu with a bellini on arrival. Every course was absolutely exquisite and delicious. Fantastic value for money. The ambience was just right and service was second to none. All in all a 5 star experience and will definitely be back again.
