The eponymous 2 Michelin-starred restaurant from revered chef Marcus Wareing, Marcus is the sophisticated dining space of The Berkeley hotel in Knightsbridge. After 10 glorious years as Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley, the restaurant underwent a major renovation, and a name change, to reopen as a more relaxed and contemporary environment.

Serving modern European cuisine rooted in British culture, the Marcus menu presents sumptuous offerings like Galloway beef with potato, cabbage, marrow and short rib, and turbot with Dorset snails, shallot and gnocchi. There’s a creative vegetarian selection offering bold combinations such as burrata with nettles and pine nuts, while an 8-course tasting menu can be partnered with fine wines selected by the sommelier.

Innovative tasting plates feature on the lunch menu at Marcus in London, while an elegant 3-course selection includes the option of ordering just a single course. Providing the perfect balance between sophistication and relaxation, the restaurant interior is characterised by clean, classical lines and a refined colour palette.

Marcus is in Wilton Place, a 4-minute walk from Knightsbridge Tube Station and a 5-minute walk from Hyde Park Corner Tube Station.

Nice meal but not memorable. British cuisine has never struck me as exceptional and if you're preppared to be wowed by top end British dishes this will be for you. We were hoping for a combination of classic French combined with British but the menu has not a hint of French influence. It was our mistake to assume a 2 Michelin star restaurant would have some French influence by default so walked away disappointed. The food was nice but not memorable. We will not be going back as not necessary like sunday roast food presented in a Michelin star way.

The food was very good, as was the service, but this is not our first visit and I think that there has been some changes and not for the good. 1. It has become very expensive and not good value for the money. 2. Wines are ok but the mark-up is just too much. 3. In the past there pre- meal taster of some sort, this time nothing 4. A £12 which brought 6/7 very small tastes of cheese, very poor I thought.
Will I go again probable not, it certainly is not on my bucket list. A number of empty table?

    Disappointing

Arranged a business lunch at Marcue Wareing at The Berkeley and this was our first visit to the restaurant. The staff were attentive to our needs and polite. The food was really good and presented very well. The restaurant is about to close for 2 months for refurbishment and whilst the establishment was clean and tidy and not usually something I would be concerned about I am looking forward to see what renovations take place over the coming two months and hope for a more lighter ambiance as I did find the restaurant quite 'dark and dated'. Would definitely dine here again both for business and pleasure.

GORGEOUS MEAL...HAD TASTER MENU AND IT WAS LOVELY. HAD 5 GLASSES OF SPARKLING WINE AND A GLASS OF LOVELY RED TOO. PRICE INCLUDING SERVICE CHARGE WAS £370 FOR TWO PEOPLE. SERVICE CHARGE WAS AUTOMATICALLY ADDED AT 12.5% AND WAS DESERVING OF THIS PERCENTAGE HOWEVER WOULD PREFER TO CHOOSE MY OWN SERVICE CHARGE PERCENTAGE. WOULD HAVE PROBABLY LEFT MORE AS SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT.

Was shown the way to the restaurant by the conceirge where the attentive staff greeted us and took our jackets.
The menu was simple and easy to follow. The lunch menu had a few tasty delights and the waiters were well versed. The somalia was always available with interesting suggestions to complement the food. Dessert was an accomplishment in its self, the salted caramel and nuts sat very well above the layered choc cake and the appricot vanilla sorbet was beautifuly presented. Overall a beautiful dining experience
