Internationally renowned chef Marco Pierre White’s The Swan Inn Aughton blends traditional pub fare with modern Anglo-French cuisine. The brasserie-style dishes are presented in a cosy, chic setting.
Featuring roasts, grills and English steaks, the Swan Inn menu is stamped with Marco Pierre White’s influence, listing classics like game pie, potage of mussels and Wheeler’s of St James’ fish pie. Traditional favourites such as fried haddock with real chips and sauce tartare also appear.
An extensive wine and champagne list, sourced to harmonise with the menu, features bottles from all over the world. In keeping with its origins as a pub, The Swan Inn offers a fine selection of real ales. Sophisticated yet homely, the dining room has a buzzing ambience, and features exposed brick walls adorned with art, wooden floors and smartly dressed tables.

Went for lunch. The service is second to none. The atmosphere is relaxed but sophisticated. Nice people having a nice time. The food is tiptop. Had numerous visits to this restaurant and never yet been disappointed. Don't let the big chef name put you off. Great value for money unlike a number of his colleagues. Go, you will not regret it.

Booked table for 7.30 and went for the table d'hote two courses for [$] - thought it was overpriced. My starter of a salmon rillete needed a piece of bread or a roll. My second course of a traditional hotpot was very good but the vegetable offered was disappointing. Just peas in a small pan when a selection would have been more appetising. We did not want a pudding and ordered decaff coffee to round off the meal. But they did not have any. At least the waitress admitted it and did not palm us off with ordinary coffee.
