We had a set Sunday lunch menu. We were greeted by stressed staff, sat next to a couple who were so close to us, we should have asked them to join us. The service was slow, we were bought drinks we didn't order, embarrassingly were served each time before the couple next to us even though they had been sat there before us and we're generally treated as of we were a table of 4 not two. The soup was delicious. The roast dinner was not what we expected, roast beef consisted of steak with roast trimmings. The steak was very tasty however if I knew I was going to be served steak I would have liked a choice of how I wanted it cooked. Very big disappointment that we think the Yorkshires were from a packet they were perfectly formed and tasted like aunt bessies. Come on this is a Marco pierre white restaurant! The potatoes, veg and gravy very well seasoned and cooked. When served we were not asked if we wanted any sauces and the waitress disappeared so it was too late when she came back to even ask. I asked twice for more gravy and this was delivered upon my last bite. I couldn't manage pudding as I was full however my husband had a knickerbocker glory and said it was nice. I was still charged for the full 3 courses so I advise anyone who goes if you are full ask for a takeaway. Overall food good but service poor. Would not be happy if I paid full price for a meal and receive such service.

We thought the food on offer in comparison to other afternoon teas at places such as the Christopher Wren Hotel or the Harte and Garter was of far better quality. The service was good but could be improved, considering that the hotel is in a prime location in Windsor.

Comfortable, attractive décor, good choices. More attention needed to refilling wine glasses.

Overpriced, boring, bland food. I actually left thinking what a waste of money that was. Didn't feel I was getting value for money. Where do you get off charging so much for some still water and a bit of bread.

We did expect a little bit better service than what experienced. The delivery of the drinks was rather slow. Where twice we had nothing to drink for approx 15 minutes. The waitress was a bit clumsy and spilt my pot of pepper corn sauce over my plate and did not offer to replace and just left it.
My wife's bernaise sauce was cold and her meal had to be taken away and recooked, was told it would be seven minutes but took fifteen minutes. This left me eating my meal on my own.
The restaurant redeemed itself when they took note that the meal was for our first wedding anniversary and brought a surprise treat out for us.
Unfortunately overall the meal was not a wonderful experience for us.
