Serving modern British cuisine from the world-famous chef, the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill looks out over a lawn leading to the river Cam, just upstream of a punt rental station.

The décor at this Marco Pierre White restaurant in Cambridge is contemporary and minimalist, with the focus being on the views from the large glass windows of the brasserie. From here you can see the Mill Pond meadow and the punters (of varying degrees of skill) making their way down the river.

In the summer the doors are opened onto the terrace in front of the brasserie, and guests can wander the grounds, or sip tea under the shade of trees.

Just a 3-minute walk from Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill is Cambridge's famous mathematical bridge, belonging to Queen's College just opposite. The city centre is also an 8-minute walk away, complete with its shops, theatres and other colleges.

Whilst the breakfast was fine, the dinner was hardly what could be expected from a Michelin starred chef and I can only conclude that Michel P White cannot have personally created the menu or supervised its production and his only role is to sell his name for publicity.

We had a lovely afternoon tea to celebrate my elderly father's 91st birthday which he thoroughly enjoyed. We were very looked after by the staff. A very pleasant time.

Made to feel very welcome. Arrived early and no problem. Lovely table with view of Cam. Delicious choice of food. My wife and I both had 3 courses and were pleasantly surprised to receive a very nice sorbet after our main course. Also offered a glass of Champagne when we said it was our 30th wedding anniversary meal.Restaurant pleasantly quiet for a Friday night. More local advertising might increase numbers as prices competitive with other Cambridge restaurants. Quite out of sight being part of the Hilton Hotel.

Very nice afternoon teas, including the gluten free option, and what a beautiful setting by the River Cam. Waitresses were friendly and accomodating.

Overall we enjoyed our afternoon, I think the spot in front of the river with great company was the main reason for this. We found the service to be incredibly slow and were surrounded by uncleared dirty tables for the majority of the afternoon. The food on the whole was nice but the sandwiches were a little dry and the waitress spilt prosecco on one of our laps as it fizzed up once the cork was popped.
For a higher priced afternoon tea I probably wouldn't rush back to the double tree other than to just have a drink by the river.

I dined here yesterday and I was very disappointed. I visited the Afternoon tea at the DoubleTree Hilton in London and it was great. Lovely service, great food and a brilliant time.
When myself and my mother arrived, the bar was straight ahead so we thought we'd ask where to go there. We waited for someone to acknowledge us, and I actually counted 11 staff at one point at the bar and not one asked if they could help us. Due to that we walked around found the express check out desk, which told us where to go. From there, we were seated, and I really wasn't fussy where we were sat- but yesterday got to a high of 29oc and there were NO spacing between the seats at all, we were all placed in one corner even though the whole resturant was empty. Anyhow, we were served and the waiter didn't know what we were having even though there was a guest list for afternoon tea... So we explained and she brought us the tea and food.
The food was lovely, a great selection of sandwiches and cake.
One thing I loved about this visit is that they knew it was my mother's birthday and they made the glass of prosecco I ordered for her complimentary.
Overall, I really didn't think they were organised and I generally think it could have been better. I will be returning to the DoubleTree at Hilton but not this location.
