Food lovely.Service ok-the waitress didn't know how to open a bottle of wine and we had to ask her to get us new wine glasses when we ordered a new bottle of wine which she should have done automatically

On arrival service was good - starters were ok however the Sour bred was extremely hard which took some chumping and smashed up like glass when hit against the plate - main course of salmon was over cooked and dry but the triple cooked chips were fabulous so it was a bit of a mix match for us but we will give it another try at some stage as a new restaurant needs time top settle.

When we arrived there seemed to be a problem on locating my booking which was for 8pm - then a guy came to say our table wasnt ready so take a seat in the bar area where we were offered a complimentary drink. However we were not seated at our table for approx another 45 mins then when we placed our order it was another longish wait so we were not actually eating to almost 9 30pm. We decided not to have starters as time was running on & two of the party cannot eat late. When the waitress brought the plates to the table the small jar of tomato sauce which was on my plate/board, nearly fell unto my lap & my friends french fries nearly landed on the floor. All in all it was a disappointing evening & one we had been looking forward to as I had it booked weeks ahead. We just expected more from a Marco Pierre White establishment!!

We went along to the newly opened Marco Pierre White restaurant at the Park Avenue Hotel. Having visited the hotel previously, I noticed the change immediately, the restaurant looks fantastic. We were greeted upon arrival by the Maitre D who confirmed our booking and took us straight to our table, handing us over to our waiter. We ordered a sirloin steak each, done medium rare, and to cut to the chase, it was the best steak either of us had ever had. The accompaniments were delicious, and the service was fantastic - to give credit to the waiter, Neal, who was outstanding. Thank you for a great meal, I will be singing the praises and recommending far and wide!
