Great service. Great food. Only comment was that we felt a little rushed... Was out within one hour.

Nice restaurant. We went on a special deal but the selection was good. We had seared tuna and fish pate for starters; rump steak (done perfectly) and beouf bourginon for mains, good desserts. (But we didn't love the cocktails that were part of the deal. We weren't allowed to substitute a plain glass of wine.) Good ambience. I loved the cloth tablecloths-- often hard to find these days. Good, friendly service. One big problem for us, however: the acoustics. There was canned music playing fairly loudly throughout our meal. My husband and I had difficulty hearing each other converse, even though we were obviously next to each other. For this reason alone we probably won't go back.

Dined here on a Sunday afternoon, whilst the traders on Petticoat Lane and Middlesex St were clearing up the street market. I bet the restaurant loves the banging and crashing!

Notwithstanding that, I had booked a 'star deal' 3 course menu, which was faultless. The food was impeccably cooked, tasted absolutely divine and was surprisingly very filling.

My recommendations would be the seared tuna salad and haddock fishcake. The basic food offer is exceptional value for money, although I must confess that side dishes, £4 for a small bowl of salad and £10 for a large glass of wine (not just you MPW) is highway robbery in my opinion. In fairness nobody made me choose either of these items but I'm just leaving my honest opinion.

Service was pretty good, although probably one notch off being in tune with the food experience. All in all well worth a visit and I would return in the future.

The service was very slow on the night and we had to call to request service to our table, I have been there before but this experience was a let down.
