Not a good start to the evening with the Front of House. No enthusiasm no manners and certainly (on this night) the wrong person for the Job. Originally seated at street level at the front of the Restaurant we soon moved because of the cold and draft, especially from the Door when others entered. Upstairs was a better seating and ambiance area but felt cramp and over lit.

Food service was rushed and the food itself bland, boring, poor quality and cold. My steak was over cooked, and needed replacement, my friends stroganoff cold.

The bathroom stench was over powering quickly followed by a tired and dirty bathroom. Take an Orange with some Cloves pushed in!

Overall no better than a fast food chain, in fact the fast food chain would have dressed their staff better.

Poor effort and in need of some support and governance from whoever owns this Restaurant.

When there is so much competition out there you would think they would make an effort! Service was slow and steak quality poor. The waiter said it was Italian meat. That explains....

Staff were a total pleasure, polite and helpful. We were instantly seated at our table once our coats had taken.
Service was quick, food arrived in good time.
The meal was lovely, steak cooked as requested and the ambience was pleasant, further enhanced by the choice of background music.
    An overall enjoyable evening.

The food was pretty disappointing and the staff chaotic. If you go for the set menu, prepare to pay more as you have a supplement for all of the steaks and they come with out anything, which feels a little dishonest.

We had a great meal, responding to the special offer of 3 courses with cocktail for £25. The service was exemplary

We eventually found this restaurant, it is extremely small, the front is painted black, a bit shabby looking and easy to miss. I guess, because I was associating MPW with grander things, that i walked past this place almost twice. We packed neatly in like sardines and our experience began. Our waiter was a perculiar timid almost frightened little man, but was generally reasonable service. The food was ok, average i guess. no better than you would get in any descent pub but reasonable quality. It wasnt until we used the toilets located in the belly of the property did we really experience the true aroma and ambience of the restaurant, it was disgusting. It was dirty and stunk like a sewer. A pungent smell that crept up the stairs and into the restaurant. I felt very sorry for the clients nearest the top of the stairs! The bill arrived at £50 per head, expensive for what it was. Be careful as a 12% gratuity charge is on the bill as optional but it had already been added so dont get caught out with this. Would never go back.

Top quality food and service, at a price.

The whole experience was delightful from the delicious cocktail to start, right through to the dessert. I must say the main course I chose boeuf bourgignon was the best I've ever had. The portions were generous and the low price of £25 inclusive amazing and great value.
