I have dined at this restaurant 3 or 4 times before, and always had an excellent meal. Unfortunately last night was not so good. One of the starters was already sold out at 1945 as was one of the desserts, I call that bad planning for so early in the evening, although I have to say that the starters and desserts we chose were very good. The main course however was a different story. Three out of the four main courses were not hot when served to us. The staff was very apologetic and took them away, and made new ones. I myself was embarrassed, as my wife and I took a couple of very dear friends, having told them how wonderful everything had been on our previous visits. It really did spoil the evening for us. I would certainly think long and hard as to weather or not I would return to the restaurant.

Staff very attentative, friendly and polite. Restaurant had a lovely ambiance with appropriate relaxing background music, not too loud and mellow.
Cocktail served on arrival, included in set meal price (3-courses + Cocktail). Extras are chargeable, such as bottled water, sides, pay a supplement on mains i.e. to change to different type or size of Steak - my husband did, supplement for a 10 oz Rib-Eye being £7, all drinks (spirits, wine, beer, beverages).
My starter, Gravadlax with mustard sauce, my husband 'Soup of the day' - Potato and Leek served with fresh crispy bread roll - I had a taste of the soup my husband ordered and it was lovely, you could taste the flavour and knew exactly what you were eating.
Food was lovely, well presented and portions were plenty. I had as a main course Supreme of Corn-fed Chicken with classic Caesar Salad/Bacon/Fresh Anchovies plus shards of Parmesan Cheese, ordering Triple Cooked Fries to accompany - alas to say I did not need and only ate a couple of the fries, as main is plentiful on its own - Chicken was beautifully cooked and a very large double chicken breast was presented - again here I was unable to consume all as the poultry portion was large.
For dessert I had Summer Pudding that was served with a large dollop of clotted cream (I thought this was a ball of vanilla ice cream first of all, that's how large) - the dessert was wonderful, absolutely packed with redcurrants, blackcurrants, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and small pieces of cooked apple, plenty of liquid.
We were not hurried and stayed until we were ready to depart our table, the finishing gesture and touch being 'Happy Anniversary' piped around both our dessert plates in a soft chocolate - thank you, we personally thoroughly enjoyed our meal at this restaurant and would visit again.

The restaurant was tastefully decorated and staff were very well presented!! We were warmly welcomed and shown to the bar whilst our table was being prepared!! The food looked lovely and was equally as delicious!! My personal favourites were the triple cooked chips and the scrumptious pecan pie!! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family and hope to return to dine there in the near future!!
