Booked for an afternoon tea for my husband's birthday - was very disappointed. The tea room had obviously had a lot of customers before us but none of the tables had been cleared up and the room was empty bar us. It felt liked we were the ones tagged on at the end of a party which had finished!!. Service was poor and after waiting 30 mins for our cream tea, I had go and find someone to speak to. It eventually arrived and then people started to clear tables which left us feeling awkward as conversation was difficult with the noises if cups and plates being gathered. Although our waiter was very apologetic, we felt that the service/experience was very poor - probably due to sufficient staff being on duty.

Genuinely very friendly staff... food could have been hotter, my calves liver didn't really need a thin gravy... portions were sensible... it was Spanish waiter Daniels first night, he did an excellent job, his limited English was no barrier... it does seem the norm with restaurants nowadays to have the temperature just above freezing, warmth should come not only from the staff but also from the room...

Really enjoyable. Food was delicious. Pecan pie was gorgeous and lighter than I was expecting.

Loved the layout of the restaurant. As a lone diner I was put in a corner and LOVED it! I had the New Years Day prefixed menu, Salmon, Short beef rib and Creme brulee. Salmon on rye bread was faultless. The short.rib was very good but jus a bit too salty for my tastes. Creme brulee was also top dollar. Crunchy top and gorgeousness of creamy variety underneath! Waiting staff extremely attentive. throughout. Loved the ambience too!

This was booked for us as an anniversary gift. Not too impressed by waiting 5/10 mins to be acknowledge to begin with. The table was fine and we seemed to be the only diners in the restaurant for quite a while. The food was very good and a nice surprise but overall the service was very slow.
Best to go if you are staying in the hotel or have hours to spare.
