Situated in Union Street in the heart of historic Stratford-upon-Avon Malbec serves unpretentious seasonal English cuisine using carefully sourced ingredients. There's an intimate little restaurant on the ground floor and an ornate spiral staircase leads to 'Cellar Malbec' with its vaulted ceilings and flagstone floors. Starters include Salad of Pickled Mushrooms with smoked Lincolnshire poacher and quails egg (£6.25) and Potted shrimps (£6.75). Mains include Fillet of Cornish black bream with mussels, orange and tarragon (£16), Duo of Free Range Suffolk pork, slow cooked belly and roast tenderloin with pickled cabbage (£15.50) and for veggies Cannelloni of mushroom, spinach and tomato (£13.50).
