This was my second visit. First time it was to meet friends who were in London before flying home to Texas. The Mad Bishop and Bear seemed a convenient and easy place to find. It was a really enjoyable experience. The friendly service, food and beer were great. Fish and chips, shepherds pie, sticky toffee pudding were declared by my American friends to be delicious.
My second visit was yesterday to meet up with a friend from Pakistan and her brother and sister in law who live near London.
We had a fabulous time. Once again the staff were really friendly and helpful. My guests are vegetarian and also don't drink alcohol but this didn't cause any problems. The wraps and linguini were all voted a success. The chocolate brownies were delicious too. I had recommended the sticky toffee pudding but unfortunately for them the sauce contained ale, I love that dessert but actually the brownies were just as memorable. I live near Swindon so only an hours train journey to Paddington. Up two flights of stairs and I am in the restaurant! A perfect place to meet up with friends. I look forward to the next time!
