A high-end concept brought to you by the former MD of steak restaurant Gaucho and Le Gavroche chef Michael Reid, M Victoria is the second M opening, joining its hugely popular sister restaurant, M Threadneedle St. This award–winning grill restaurant was shortlisted as Best New Opening 2016 and Best Festival Menu at the London Restaurant Festival.
Offsetting its succulent grill cuts with a nutrient-bursting raw bar, the M restaurant menu focuses on supreme ingredients, cherry-picked from across the globe. Enjoy RAW specialities like tuna sashimi or kangaroo tartare, along with GRILL favourites like braised lamb, or a succulent Aberdeen Angus steak.
Head down to the basement-dwelling M bar to sample a host of signature cocktails and street food, where live arts and DJs conjure a high-octane vibe. The M restaurant group was bestowed with ‘Sommelier of the Year’ award from Harpers 2015.

Really enjoyed our experience here. Good value with the lunch deal. Only minor letdown was the table next to us offered the bottle of prosecco on top of their free drink. We were not offered the same and would have happily paid for the bottle.

The restaurant is beautiful & trendy. The main (the meat) was good but the starters are not special and the sushi plate is tiny. Desert is average too. The waiters are nice but I think they lack experience in the job. I recommend it for a young people gather because of its atmosphere.

We had the lunch deal @£29.50 for 4 course to share and glass of fizz. The starters and rump steak were excellent. I can't fault the food or the service.

Food was quite nice. We went on a 'deal'. When we got there we were told the food was to 'share' not what we were expecting. My husband has a nut allergy - which i advised them of prior to arriving. He was told he couldn't have the starter so they brought an alternative. They then added the 'extra' starter to the bill - which I questioned, and they removed it.
The fish course was rather bland.
The steak was ok, but shared, we were expecting one each!
Doughnuts were a bit hard, waiter said they were filled with lemongrass, but 1/2 were chocolate, so ok.
On the whole, food average, service bad, didn't pay the service charge!
I would not return or recommend. A shame as I work nearby. We've dine many meal deals and this doesn't rank well!

Made reservations for 2 through book a table only to learn that the 2 people will have to share from a platter (apparently thats a concept at M). Clearly this meant that we wouldn't have the flexibility to order what we like and were forced to order the same items.
Food - 3 / 5 The valentines day set menu was a confused medley of Mediterranean + sashimi + grill. While each course could stand on its own the combination made no sense at all. But the biggest disappointment of the night was the dessert - fried doughnut balls with lemon curd and chocolate mousse (the curd and the mousse were nominal garnishes on the fried doughnut balls). They looked really deapoetizing in the bland presentation on a wooden tray.
Ambience - 4 / 5 The place has a club like feel and the lighting is slightly on the dimmer side. Music is louder than a regular dinner place and tracks are mostly recent hits
Other Services viz. Concierge / Cloaking / Reception - 4.5 / 5 Can give them full marks for the apparent confusion and number of people who were trying to manage the same set of activities
Overall because of the sharing platter concept (that I believe was hidden from Bookatable) I wouldn't recommend the place to real foodies. For those who are not driven by tastebuds only and care about a casual dining experience this place might be worth a try.

Steep staircase but friendly staff
Great steak & wonderful chips Pity they had run out of my wife's favourite, Fleurie. Problem with doughnut sweet, but manager sorted it out entirely to our satisfaction. A good night out for us.

Really easy to find, and a warm welcome on arrival. Coats checked and seated quickly in a comfortable and classically contemporary dining space. The service was very attentive without being imposing, and the staff were very friendly and well drilled in the 'modus operadi' of the restaurant. The background music was funky and upbeat enough and at the right tone for a lunch. Prosecco was light and tasty, and perfect for the middle of the day. The food was excellent and the options for sides and additions meant it was a truly tailor-made affair. All in all, a great value lunch.
