Disappointed that gourmet cards no longer accepted on a Friday. My wife's starter was disappointing as the dish was described as served with an Asian salad. It was served with shredded cabbage! The soy n ginger sauce was just soy sauce poured from a bottle. Not very palatable. The waitress did offer to change it but my wife wanted the prawns. These were delicious. The main courses were acceptable although my roast potatoes were surprisingly tough. My wife enjoyed her sea bass. Cheese board boring n lacked flavour.
    Disappointing!

Lovely afternoon in a peaceful setting. First waiter was lovely (Rafeal). Food was tasty, perhaps a bit too much for two.

This is a lovely, comfortable place for afternoon tea. We enjoyed the atmosphere very much.
We were a party of 3 and were somewhat surprised to find our food consisted of 8 finger sandwiches, 2 scones and 4 other cakes. This seemed fairly paltry for 3 people (who had not eaten beforehand!). We asked for a third scone because that is a highlight of any afternoon tea, for us. Later on we observed parties of 2 with the same amount of cakes, scones etc as we had been served. Apart from an extra cup, saucer and plate, we wondered what the extra money (for a third person) we had paid had been spent on?! However, being polite and not wanting to cause a scene we kept this to ourselves.
The service was friendly and polite and we enjoyed ourselves,

Disappointing. Limited choice of menu and overpriced.

I have been to Letchworth Hall Hotel many times, growing up in the area we celebrated many family events here. This visit was for my Mums birthday and once again we were in for a treat. The restaurant was busy preparing when we arrived and it took a while for someone to appear at the bar to serve us drinks, but once sat at our table the service was fabulous. Our waitress Jacqueline was helpful, friendly and very accommodating, even packing a few petit fours into a bag with crackers and party hats for my children to take away. The food was superb, enormous starters and main courses, but delicious. The deserts equally tasty (especially the plum pudding). The set menu was great value at £20 for three courses, and a child's menu at £10. Once again we were made to feel welcome and special, the staff seemed to actually care that we had a nice time. This is a beautiful, historical building with real character and a relaxed atmosphere from days gone by. We love it!

A group of 7 (plus baby), had afternoon tea at the Letchworth Hall Hotel. There was a great selection of tea, sandwiches and cakes. The staff were really helpful bringing extra tea and sandwiches at no extra cost. The atmosphere was relaxed and it was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. I would recommend Lytton's restaurant and plan to return for a meal there soon.

We have eaten here several times as a couple and with friends. On every occasion the food has been excellent, in taste and presentation, as is the service.
The older part of the building has real charm and the restaurant has a large airy conservatory on the side. Also there is a very large car park
    which is important to us.
