Excellent food selected from an exciting menu. The grouse was outstanding! Smiley, friendly and efficient service.

Michelin-starred Lyle’s is the first restaurant from renowned chef James Lowe, founding member of the esteemed Young Turks Collective, alongside John Ogier, his former colleague at St John. Opened in Spring 2014, the restaurant occupies an enviably trendy spot in Shoreditch, the fittingly modern and minimalist décor offset by the rich, wholesome cuisine.

Big on UK produce, the Lyle’s menu is a creative blend of British and Scandinavian influences, with both lunch and dinner menus updated daily. Dishes may include the likes of Dover sole with seaweed and anchovy, Galloway flank steak with pickled walnuts, and pumpkin with smoked eel and kale. Homemade breads, butters and pickles also feature.

Desserts at Lyle’s restaurant are no less creative, and include fig and fig leaf ice cream alongside a classically British cheese board. A carefully selected wine menu, which evolves with the seasons, perfectly complements the exquisite menu.

On one of London’s most vibrant streets, Lyle’s Shoreditch is a 1-minute walk from Shoreditch High Street Train Station.

Lyle's always delivers, interesting, seasonal, flavourful, delicious, fresh food. Lovely selection of natural wines.

We really enjoyed our evening at Lyle's. Overall, the food has been really good. The service was extremely friendly, however they seemed to be in a rush and did not take too much time explaining the dishes or for time with the customers. Moreover, the location was really cold and the bathrooms could be a lot nicer aswell.

Excellent restaurant! The staff were all just lovely. They were attentive without being irritating and genuinely polite. The menu was interesting and unusual with a selection of prices. I chose the beetroot/beef and walnut dish which was delicious. My three friends all chose another beef dish with anchovy sauce. Apart from having to get the beef cooked a bit more for two of them, they all thoroughly enjoyed the dish but the two males would have enjoyed bigger portions. The cheeses finished off the meal particularly the crispy wafer type bread. The tables are well spaced out so you don't have to hear other conversations. The music was a bit loud probably because of bare walls and floor.

Great meal. Some of the loveliest food I have had. Friendly informative staff and warm atmosphere.

Unimpressive food with basic mistakes: oily soup to start, salty second dish, burned cherries in the main dish, very acid dessert. Expensive for the quality (or lack thereof).

Staff was great. A special dessert was not on the menu the day we went but the chef still made it for us. The food was absolutely delicious. The décor is semi industrial with lots of gray and concrete with the noise being on the high side. Very relaxed vibe and a mixed clientele. Everything we ordered was A+.
