We had a great time there, everything was delicious, very friendly staff. Scones were to die for and pastries excellent. Definitely a good experience!

Sitting in an enviable setting right on the Strand, Lounge Bar Strand Palace Hotel treats diners to elegance and British tradition for its famed afternoon teas.

The varied compositions of the afternoon teas on the Lounge Bar menu offer eclectic choice for diners, while still retaining the traditions that have made British afternoon tea such an institution. Delicate fingers sandwiches can be filled with options like premium thinly sliced salmon, while the cakes are served alongside moist raisin scones with clotted cream and jam. A special champagne afternoon tea brings an indulgent kick to proceedings, with a carefully selected bottle being served with English teacakes and other treats.

In addition to the afternoon teas, Lounge Bar Strand Palace Hotel London also offers a selection of light meals, including tapas-style sharing platters of meatballs in spicy tomato sauce, and classic tomato brushchetta. There are also heartier options for larger appetites.

Lounge Bar Strand Palace Hotel is surrounded by local theatres, and sits moments from Charing Cross Station and Covent Garden.

We tried the Indian afternoon tea and the Covent Garden afternoon tea. Served in the lounge bar, the atmosphere is that of… a lounge bar. Nevertheless, both afternoon teas were delicious. And a vey good value for your money. Just a little bit disappointed by the somehow limited choice of teas.

This was an average afternoon tea. No loose leaf tea and cold sandwiches.
Poor lighting, tv in the lounge bar made the setting uninviting.
Staff were very helpful and friendly.

The food and service were very good but the seating in the alcove that my daughter and i sat at was disappointing as the seat fabric was worn and the edges of the seating was falling apart

My friend and I booked afternoon tea before the theatre. The lounge bar had a nice relaxed atmosphere and the service was good. The afternoon tea was excellent and there was plenty of it.

Very disappointed. Were shown to restaurant and took our seats and were completely ignored until we attracted one of the waitress' attention. Asked what the choice of teas were and was told they would have to check. When waiter came back we ordered breakfast tea and again had to ask for this as it didn't arrive. Didn't think much of the choice of sandwiches either - as there was no brown bread. Wouldn't book again and was not worth the money. Staff didn't seem to know or care about what they were doing.
