Overall a good experience. My partner and I chose this afternoon tea package as it included macaroons. However on the day there were no macaroons :( so we were quite disappointed. Staff were very polite and location was easy to find.

Sitting in an enviable setting right on the Strand, Lounge Bar Strand Palace Hotel treats diners to elegance and British tradition for its famed afternoon teas.

The varied compositions of the afternoon teas on the Lounge Bar menu offer eclectic choice for diners, while still retaining the traditions that have made British afternoon tea such an institution. Delicate fingers sandwiches can be filled with options like premium thinly sliced salmon, while the cakes are served alongside moist raisin scones with clotted cream and jam. A special champagne afternoon tea brings an indulgent kick to proceedings, with a carefully selected bottle being served with English teacakes and other treats.

In addition to the afternoon teas, Lounge Bar Strand Palace Hotel London also offers a selection of light meals, including tapas-style sharing platters of meatballs in spicy tomato sauce, and classic tomato brushchetta. There are also heartier options for larger appetites.

Lounge Bar Strand Palace Hotel is surrounded by local theatres, and sits moments from Charing Cross Station and Covent Garden.

Staff were slow, no menu when we sat down and then made to wait again after menu given. No high chair provider for baby. Put in corner booth so difficult to handle baby with no high chair. Minimal amount of sandwiches. More butter than filling in the sandwiches. Scones were the only good thing.

Good value and well presented with good service. But would have liked more sandwiches.

The afternoon tea was okay but for "The Strand" I was disappointed. There was hardly any filling in the sandwiches (very stingey) and the selection was awful; we had to ask for more which was the same selection. The tea was lovely and there was a nice selection. The warm scones were delightful and the cakes on top were lovely but lacking creativity. The champagne wasn't filled to the top. For the strand hotel everything was very stingey portions and very average. Next time I'll head to the Savoy and pay extra for more quality. Although the service from the staff was great. It didn't help that the hotel guests can just walk through the cafe either; so off putting.

We booked for Afternoon Tea and it was very pleasant, very quiet at 4pm when we were seated. We waited a while for our food to come, but it was a very unrushed atmosphere so a nice place to relax. When it arrived the food was of a very good standard and there was plenty. We were given top-ups of our drinks.
Excellent choice of cakes, the scones were warm and delicious, would have liked more choice of sandwiches - but they were very fresh and tasty.

it was horrible. The interiors and furniture were completely worn down. There were no outside views or natural sunlight. It felt like the waiting room of a poorly subsidised NHS GP's practice. I cannot stress how uncomfortable and unpleasant this "lounge" is. Furthermore it was filled with children, running around an screaming at the top of their lungs. At least the service was good, the waiters were trying to their best to be as proactive as possible.
The quality of food however was below standard of what you would expect from a London afternoon tea service.

We enjoyed everything about the experience, staff are excepionally friendly and warming from the minute we arrived until we left. They catered for my wife by providing just the sandwiches she liked from the menu, we were sat in a nice individual booth which was great as it was for my wifes 60th birthday and this made it extra special on the day.

Very friendly and prompt service. I was there for afternoon tea and was made to feel very relaxed and did not feel rushed to finish dining.
All parts of the menu were delicious. Would highly recommend The Strand Palace for afternoon tea. Later in the day my party and I returned and had a drink in the Gin Palace next to the Lounge Bar. This was also very good.

Very accommodating. We were placed in the Gin room because there was no space in the lounge bar.
