Sitting in an enviable setting right on the Strand, Lounge Bar Strand Palace Hotel treats diners to elegance and British tradition for its famed afternoon teas.

The varied compositions of the afternoon teas on the Lounge Bar menu offer eclectic choice for diners, while still retaining the traditions that have made British afternoon tea such an institution. Delicate fingers sandwiches can be filled with options like premium thinly sliced salmon, while the cakes are served alongside moist raisin scones with clotted cream and jam. A special champagne afternoon tea brings an indulgent kick to proceedings, with a carefully selected bottle being served with English teacakes and other treats.

In addition to the afternoon teas, Lounge Bar Strand Palace Hotel London also offers a selection of light meals, including tapas-style sharing platters of meatballs in spicy tomato sauce, and classic tomato brushchetta. There are also heartier options for larger appetites.

Lounge Bar Strand Palace Hotel is surrounded by local theatres, and sits moments from Charing Cross Station and Covent Garden.

Loved the little coved area that was reserved for us. It took a long time for the food to get to us and some of the sandwiches were quite dry on the edges where they had been left standing around. Staff were friendly but again quite slow as it was busy. Having said that it was a lovely time with my mum and sister

I loved it! It was everything I wanted!

All in all, an extremely pleasant experience, although, having only just visited the glamorous and truly magnificent lobby and tea room of the Savoy Hotel, I was rather dissapointed by the somewhat shabby, dated appearance of the same at The Strand Palace Hotel. Perhaps a future refurbishment might be in order. My sister and I were impressed by the afternoon tea, both in the extensive range of delectables, as well as the price. The scones were particularly delicious, the sanwiches fresh, various and tasty, and the pastries, entirey scrumtious to behold. Service was performed with a smile, as is always preferable, and we were most obliged when a waitress provided us with a box in order we take away the fancy cakes we were unable to consume. Thank you Strand Palace Hotel. I would certainly recommend your afternoon tea service to my friends and colleagues.

My boyfriend and I went for a lovely afternoon tea at the Strand Palace Hotel. The food was delicious and the atmosphere in the Lounge Bar was very relaxing. Considering how affordable the afternoon tea was I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone.

Service slow and not at all welcoming. Food was good.

Excellent service from the main door through to the lounge bar for our afternoon tea. Our waitress was charming and very helpful. There was an endless supply of hot drinks and the food, in the main, absolutely delicious. There were a couple of minor issues. The bread on some of the sandwiches was a little dry and the cream in some of the chocolate eclairs tasted and smelt of fish. This was rectified immediately.

The reason for our visit was to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had been to the Royal Opera House to watch The Nutcracker ballet and our afternoon tea at The Strand Palace was literally the icing on the cake!!
