Sitting in an enviable setting right on the Strand, Lounge Bar Strand Palace Hotel treats diners to elegance and British tradition for its famed afternoon teas.

The varied compositions of the afternoon teas on the Lounge Bar menu offer eclectic choice for diners, while still retaining the traditions that have made British afternoon tea such an institution. Delicate fingers sandwiches can be filled with options like premium thinly sliced salmon, while the cakes are served alongside moist raisin scones with clotted cream and jam. A special champagne afternoon tea brings an indulgent kick to proceedings, with a carefully selected bottle being served with English teacakes and other treats.

In addition to the afternoon teas, Lounge Bar Strand Palace Hotel London also offers a selection of light meals, including tapas-style sharing platters of meatballs in spicy tomato sauce, and classic tomato brushchetta. There are also heartier options for larger appetites.

Lounge Bar Strand Palace Hotel is surrounded by local theatres, and sits moments from Charing Cross Station and Covent Garden.

I booked a table as part of a London day out treat for my wife and I, It was brilliant. Being frank we shared a tea experience which was £25.00 this included 5 finger sandwiches 5 finger cakes and two fruit scones with clotted cream. You could have a pot of tea a choice of teas or swap for a single coffee. We also treated ourselves to a very nice bottle of prosecco. We were booked it at 1600 but arrived earlier and were accommodated straight away. Being frank they could not have done more for us. A real 5 star experience at a very reasonable price.

The tea was nice but we had to insist on moving to another table as two business meetings involving 5 people were sat right next to ys and we dressed up and there to celebrate ky Mums 70th Birthday. The waitress/ supervisor was not happy to move us and urgued with me it was embarrassing. I said I would leave uf it continued. One of the business people had even taken a chair from our set up reserved table turned it around and was sat on it with her back against our table in her meeting. What a cheek! I didn't make too much fuss as i didn't want to ruin mums trip but I was disappointed and expected a better service.

We had the Covent Garden afternoon tea and I cannot fault it. Made to feel extra special, they even brought out an extra cake decorated for my husbands birthday. The food was outstanding and the ambience was perfect.
Would highly recommend and will definitely come back.

Myself and my two sisters visited the Strand Palace Hotel for afternoon tea. As there were 3 of us we were very kindly and generously given afternoon tea for 4. Everything was delicious, the sandwiches, cakes and scones. The atmosphere was cosy and relaxed and we had a very enjoyable time. The only reason I have knocked 1 star off is because although relaxed the service was a bit slow at times and we did end up walking to the bar itself to settle the bill. Their variety of teas could also be a little more extensive and it may be useful for them to list the teas they do offer on their actual menu. Apart from that the food, venue and staff were all very pleasant and the price was very reasonable. I would definitely visit again.

Really liked the scones and the selection of cakes and the service we received. However, was extremely disappointed that I ordered a vegetarian afternoon tea and discovered beef on 2 of the sandwiches. It really did ruin the experience, especially as there was 7 of us and we spent £237. The 3 vegatarians ended up leaving half of their food.
This is the second time I have come this year but am very reluctant to come again. Would only recommend to non vegatarians.

The content of the afternoon tea was very nice. It was all very tasty. Although, I would directly remove the raisins from the scones!
Unfortunately a company on the table next to us was very loud. It didn't give the nice atmostphere we were after. The lounge room seemed to need a little update. Probably ok for a beer before going out, but not for an afternoon tea location.

Afternoon tea at the Strand Palace Hotel was delicious. Plenty of tea and cakes and added a glass of Prosecco. Very good value for money. The tea was served in a little nook inside the Lounge Bar, so quieter and more private. Plenty to eat - had to leave a scone as too full!
