We had Covent garden afternoon tea, this was excellent in content and service, no complaints or constructive comments.

Sitting in an enviable setting right on the Strand, Lounge Bar Strand Palace Hotel treats diners to elegance and British tradition for its famed afternoon teas.

The varied compositions of the afternoon teas on the Lounge Bar menu offer eclectic choice for diners, while still retaining the traditions that have made British afternoon tea such an institution. Delicate fingers sandwiches can be filled with options like premium thinly sliced salmon, while the cakes are served alongside moist raisin scones with clotted cream and jam. A special champagne afternoon tea brings an indulgent kick to proceedings, with a carefully selected bottle being served with English teacakes and other treats.

In addition to the afternoon teas, Lounge Bar Strand Palace Hotel London also offers a selection of light meals, including tapas-style sharing platters of meatballs in spicy tomato sauce, and classic tomato brushchetta. There are also heartier options for larger appetites.

Lounge Bar Strand Palace Hotel is surrounded by local theatres, and sits moments from Charing Cross Station and Covent Garden.

Fabulous - made my daughter's birthday that bit special. I did take a candle and asked if it could be put on one of the mini cakes but they put it on a special chocolate one just for her, she was delighted! Service was good and staff were friendly and made us very welcome. We would definately like to make a return visit next time we are in London.

we had booked in advance, unfortunately the table that was reserved for us was in a corner (not the nice booth that you've got) so we asked for another table. we think that the atmosphere in the lounge isn't suitable for the afternoon tea. it was very busy with other people and very loud (bar) so you couldn't relax.

My boyfriend and I had afternoon tea. It was superb. We were traveling overseas for the first time and I wanted to have that afternoon tea experience. Since we were limited to our clothing I was relieved to find a place without a strict dress code. The staff was friendly and very pleasant. The food was delicious as were the treats. Everything was so filling and just the right amount. Pricing was very affordable as well. It was all so perfect and I'm so glad I chose the strand for my first official afternoon tea experience.

Had afternoon tea in the lounge bar. Very nice setting and food was lovely. Service could have been a little better.

We arrived at 12 noon for afternoon tea. We reported to the reception desk who directed us to the bar area to ask where we needed to go. The bar area had a queue of about 20 people waiting to go to the 'Footsteps' meeting. So we looked in various rooms to see if we could ask someone else, eventually we went to the Grill area and found a member of staff who pointed us back to the bar, after queuing for 5 minutes (we were now 15 minutes late for our afternoon tea) we were helped by a very pleasant member of staff to our table. We ordered tea and waited a further 30 minutes for the sandwiches and cakes to arrive, which were delicious. Unfortunately no one came back to ask if we were OK or if we would like more tea, so after a further 30 minutes we stopped a member of staff, who seemed in a hurry to get somewhere, for more tea.

The staff were pleasant and helpful, we had to rush away as we were going to the Queen's Theatre and were mindful that we had overrun our time at your restaurant.
We enjoyed the meal but would probably not return, perhaps 'the Footsteps' meeting had over taken the normal running of the hotel?

The staff were very pleasant and friendly. I was impressed at the seating, the only slight criticism with it would be that the table was set for 2 but there were 5 seats around the table making it difficult to get in as were were in a little nook (which was lovely). The afternoon tea itself was delicious with a good variety, again just a very slight criticism would be that there was a few edges of crust on the sandwiches. I would definitely recommend this afternoon tea.
