Arrival was a bit chaotic - the 'front desk' wasn't attended, and the barman appeared to be extremely inexperienced. But this proved to be transitory. Once the 'Maitre d' had appeared, the service was excellent, particularly from our server. There was a bit of a mix up on one of the main orders (due I think to mispunching the ordering screen), but the way the Maitre D' dealt with that could not be bettered. She apologised, offered to replace the incorrect dish (we declined that offer), provided dessert free of charge AND made a reduction in the food cost. Mistakes do happen, even in the best of circles, and Loch Fyne responded magnificently. Oysters were excellent, but the main courses (pan fried Salmon) were a bit greasy - but I could have ordered grilled to avoid that risk. The french fried not as crisp as I would like. Wine quality by the glass was excellent. Better than average experience, and with a few minor tweaks, would be well above average. Big bugbear - parking in Beaconsfield is extremely difficult !

We enjoyed the meal very much. The dessert we had (the taster of about 7 mini desserts) was especially good. It was the first time we gad gone there. I don't think their website gave any information about parking and that would have been useful

starter was fine - took a long time to arrive. Main fish course very disappointing- fish VERY overcooked. Mustard mash was so overpowering and stooge -looked like semolina school dinner! Scott egg on top very dry and crispy overcooked. This put us off having a dessert. Atmosphere very buzzy and staff very helpful

Very good service and food enjoyed by all except one who thought there was too much chilli in his spaghetti and prawn main meal.A pity we were almost the only customers dining at lunchtime.

Nice location and nice interior although toilets a little shabby. Good attentive service. Main meal was a little bland but a nice dining experience overall.

They need to do better, much better. We dine at Loch Fyne from time to time as we are fish lovers. However last night left us wondering if we would ever go back.

We booked for 7:15 to beat the rush. It took 2½ hours to consume two courses. It wasn't as if our server was idle, he was run off his feet. Presumably the staff shortage extended through the kitchen because the food took forever to arrive. When it did it was riddled with errrors.

I ordered seabass & scallop ceviche but the dish that arrived was crumbed and deep-fried. It took a few minutes to attract the server's attention but he took it away and returned 5 minutes later with the correct dish. In the meantime I tucked into my husband's fish soup, which was delicious. The ceviche was good but the garnishing very similar to my main course. I ordered avocado super salad with salmon and my husband had langoustine but asked for triple chips in place of regular fries. When the manager delivered our dinner he brought mine without the salmon and my husband's with regular fries. We also had to beg for cutlery. Needless to say, no one checked on us to ensure all was well, so it was only when they came to take our plates away that I could demonstrate that the avo was so hard you could not even pierce it with a knife. To which the response was "sorry, the first one we cut was even harder". So we did not get to the fact that several of the langoustine were soft and mushy.

If the ingredients do not allow for a dish to be properly presented, why not come back to the table, explain and offer an alternative? It's a perfectly understandable situation and I would have appreciated the opportunity to choose something else.

We have just returned from the US where service is exceptional, but I see no reason why we cannot deliver as good a service as our cousins across the pond. They did give us a large discount off our bill but the business will never prosper like this. The management of this business need a rocket!!!!
