We had traditional tea which was good. Booking on line was easy, on. our arrival the receptionist said the Skybar was not open and told us to sit in reception she never came back to us. So we made our own way to the bar.
We were welcomed and served by a very polite and personable chap, who regularly came to table to ask if we wanted any top up"s.

The Sky Bar was the perfect setting for my friend's birthday afternoon tea. The food was presented in a unique way and added to the experience. There was a great selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and made us feel that nothing was too much trouble. The lovely views over Bournemouth and out to sea made the afternoon perfect for a special treat.

Atentive staff, nice venue and well prepared snacks. But the selection of food is far too small (only five) and the prices for the drinks were way too expensive. We spent just under £70 for two cocktails and four selections of tapas. No wonder the place was empty on a Friday night! I hope they realise it before it's too late. It would be a shame as it has a lot going for it.

    Nice afternoon tea. Friendly staff.

Order of things could have been better as the sandwiches came before we had even ordered our tea which then took 10-15 minutes.

We would also have liked more savoury food. Three fingers of sandwiches didn't really balance out with all the delicious cakes and desserts.

Otherwise it was a good experience with tasty food.

Due to train delays, we had to change our booking time by an hour, this was changed straight away with no problems. Our table was beautifully waiting for our arrival, service was brilliant, afternoon tea was delicious and one guest with a nut allergy, they adapted the food and described each individual piece so we were informed. One little hick up, ordered 2 drinks after and these were forgotten, however they made these complimentary and brought over straight away. Overall a lovely afternoon, so pleased we came here and will definitely be returning!

I am happy I received this email asking for feedback, because since Tuesday afternoon I can't get my head round why Hilton thinks it's ok to charge what you do. So to give some context - an afternoon tea for two, and one cocktail each came to £80.00 - I went for a Spa day in Bournemouth yesterday for £55 including a two course lunch, a treatment and access all day to the facilities. The food was 100x better than the quality of the afternoon tea. One thing I don't understand, I guess people will have more money than sense but does it make their appetite smaller? The scones you serve were a joke, I didn't realise you cater for borrower's as well as humans! Another comparison for the value for money...Afternoon tea for two, with more selection, obviously normal human size scones for £15.00. Not only was it ridiculously over priced, but I had no idea about the service charge! The service charge equated to just about £20.00, I wouldn't mind if it was a group of people being served a three course meal, but to place miniature food onto a very nice shelf you use for the presentation does not justify that money. I walked away from the Hilton feeling robbed! By looking at your website I could of had an overnight stay for £135.00.... so how can you justify a room price in comparison to a miniature afternoon tea? It makes me disappointed I even visited, I have always lived in Poole/Bournemouth and thought the area needed somewhere like the Hilton, but I am wrong, it doesn't!

That is my opinion and I will not be recommending this place to a friend, hope you get feedback like this again for your afternoon tea, I wouldn't mind paying the money if it was spectacular but it was rubbish in comparison to other afternoon teas in Bournemouth, I was expecting a lot more from such a big brand.

I would like a response to this feedback, I am interested in your comments in response to my experience and the reasoning for the pricing. Especially the service charge.
