We were a party of 4. All chose from the Prix Fixe menu. There was plenty of choice and everyone found something on the menu they really wanted. My beef was excellent and I followed it with Tarte Tatin which was outstanding. The service was impeccable - attentive without ever becoming intrusive. The seating was perfect - a round table in the window and very comfortable chairs. This was a return visit at the request of our guests who remembered fondly their last visit here with us.

I have eaten at Le Vacherin many times but for my 3 friends, it was their first visit to Le Vacherin. I knew they would be very impressed with the quality of food, wine, service and atmosphere and this proved to be the case. We each had three courses and mainly we chose differently, so between us, we must have sampled most of the Prix Fixe menu. Each course was pronounced absolutely delicious by us all. I particularly enjoy the Confit of Duck and choose it often. The Creme Brulee was put to the test by the 'Creme Brulee fan' of our group and it was pronounced 'best ever' by her. Our waiter was efficient (he anticipated my name when we arrived) and hit the right note on attentiveness. House wine very acceptable. All in all, what more can you ask?

A bit disappointing. Sole was replaced with plaice, pears in wine had no wine, fish almost raw.

Service good as usual. But I feel his food standards are coming down.
