We had a wonderful time. I booked a table for two as a surprise for my sister on her birthday. Everything was perfect. The food was absollutely delicious. I was keen to try the bread, my sister shops here for her bread.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience, the service was very bad. We arrived at 8:20, and waited over 20 minutes to place our order. It took a further 20 minutes to arrive, which I wouldn't have minded, only it was a coffee and a plain croissant. I received my croissant and coffee at 9:10! The poor waitress was on her own serving the whole restaurant, however she didn't make any apology. This was the second time I have been to Pauls, and the second time I experienced very slow service so I probably won't be returning to use the restaurant again, (Covent Garden is full of great restaurants with great service) however, Pauls still serves the best pastries in the area, so I will return to the counter to buy occasional treats to take away with me.

The coffee was very good, as was the croissant. The ambiance and music was lovely as always.

It's usually a real pleasure to go to Paul in Bedford Street. The food & wine is good and at reasonable prices and most of the staff are delightful. However, the music on this occasion was far too loud, making conversation very difficult. They did turn the volume down when asked but not enough to relax and enjoy our lunch & conversation which is a real shame as it spoils an experience that would otherwise be excellent. There is no reason to have music - good food & wine with pleasant & efficient staff are enough!

We had a 2-course pre-theatre meal. We were seated on a very comfortable sofa with plenty of room in a charming environment. The service was very good and the food was excellent - ample portions of coq au vin and a nice glass of merlot.

Great service. Ordered the bread basket; great quality and value. Both I and my guest had the Navarin D’Agneau and loved it. Thank you

We both enjoyed a delicious Croque Madame. Friendly service - a little gem close to Covent Garden market!
