We enjoyed the casual atmosphere. The food and service were both excellent and the service very friendly.

    Good experience overall.
I expected the interior to the restaurant to look fancier though, and in particular I didn't think i'd have to enter through the bakery.

Visited restaurant de paul in Covent Garden at 6pm on Saturday 11 February
Very busy and tables pushed very clise tigether. The pre theatre menu limited but we were in a lovetheatre voucher so our only option.. Food good but not exceptional, the staff were excellent. But confess it was not a relaxing and totally pleasant experience

An excellent place for dinner. A party of four of us met here on a Wednesday evening having booked a table for 18.15. The restaurant was quite busy without being full. The greeting was warm and friendly and we were allowed to choose our own table. Throughout the staff were especially pleasant; efficient; friendly and attentive. Three of us shared some cheesy bread (Gougère au Fromage) for our starter (highly recommend) whilst the fourth person had the Oeuf cocotte a la Basquaise (Baked egg with d’Espelette Pepper, shallots and tomato) which he found very spicy. The manager picked up on this while talking to us about drinks, went to the kitchen and came back to say the sauce was too spicy and deleted the item from our bill. This was a totally proactive event and most unusual and refreshing for a London restaurant! We each had different main courses - tuna; omlette; bavette steak; liver - but all were very happy with the choice. At no stage did we feel pressure to eat up and leave and after nearly two hours we left having had a lovely meal and very pleasant evening in nice surroundings. Looking forward to our next visit!

Had a nice lunch, service was very good and, given the central London location, price was reasonable.

Myself and my husband had a late lunch at Paul's in Covent Garden on New Year's Eve. I had booked a table before hand so we had somewhere to sit as the restaurant was very busy. The waiting staff were very friendly and chatty. The interior of the restaurant was shabby, there were lots of light bulbs out and the whole place including the ladies toilets looked very untidy and dated.
The food was disappointing. I did give a tip after our meal but this only because our waitress was so lovely. ( A tall polish lady with black hair)

Disgraceful. Had booked in advance. Waited 50 minutes for ravioli and when it arrived it was nothing more than a bowl of rich cream. Left and will never return. I came to London for a special evening with my partner. Dining experience at de Paul ruined the occasion.

Lovely food and drinks, lots of options for brunch. Wonderful atmosphere in the restaurant - went on a Sunday morning having previously been on a Saturday and it was must less busy (which was positive!). My only reason for not giving five stars was that service was a little slow considering the restaurant was not full - both in terms of ordering food and it arriving.
