Lovely French ambience. Enjoyed the meal and thought it good value (we had the set menu). The only complaint I would make is that
I was meeting an old school friend and thought the restaurant closed at 10.00, whereas we were told it would close shortly after 9.0 as they weren't too busy so we had to curtail our evening

I have been going to the Bedford Street branch regularly since it has been possible to book a table there. It's a relaxing place and in a good location to meet up with friends or family. The menu is good and the staff, without exception, are always friendly, welcoming and helpful. The only downside when I last went was that the music was too loud which forced everyone to shout above it, making the place very noisy and conversation difficult with each other or to hear what the waiter was saying or for him to hear what we were ordering. I'm hoping the next visit will be in a quieter and more relaxing environment as I have always enjoyed eating here.

Bakery: excellent: I know your French bread from the past (Kings Rd branch for several years), and it is excellent. I had it this time with poppy seeds: wonderful.
    Coffee: fine
    Staff: v friendly
Seats: v good comfy corner seat, unlike the hard seats in many restaurants.
    Environment – decor: v attractive – BUT…
Noise: V noisy, in spite of the comfy seats tat absorb noise. We had to talk into each other's ear to hear, and we are not yet deaf! Better sound insulation would be a huge improvement.
Busy times diagrams: V g idea to have the blue diagrams on your website; I used them to choose which Paul to come to.
THIS SURVEY: V.g idea to ask this open-ended question box. So often one is asked just to mark receptive questions out of say 5, with no chance to say what one really feels strongly about – NOISE in my case.

My wife and I had the pre theatre menu which was quite restricted, however that did not matter as we enjoyed delicious soup and coq au vin which seemed authentically French . The service was excellent, efficient and friendly and the restaurant decor and layout created a good atmosphere.
