Bringing innovative Chinese cuisine to Knightsbridge, Le Chinois Restaurant and Bar is found at the characterful Millennium Hotel on Sloane Street. With afternoon dim sum, tasty sharing options and exotic cocktails, the simply styled, lantern-lit Le Chinois boasts an eclectic Cantonese menu designed by master chef Chan Kwok.

Among appetising starters, the Le Chinois menu offers sautéed wasabi-coated prawns and pan-fried chicken dumplings. Glazed enoki mushrooms, capital spare ribs and aromatic crispy duck are full of Oriental flavour.

The big seafood choice at Le Chinois Restaurant sees honey and soy marinated sea bass and pan-fried salmon with wild mushrooms and oyster sauce. There’s meaty venison with ginger and spring onion and homemade chicken curry, plus an array of vegetarian, rice and noodle dishes.

Sweet banana fritters and red bean pancakes with ice cream are just 2 of the tempting Le Chinois desserts. Inspired by Millennium's award-winning Singapore restaurant Hua Ting, Le Chinois Restaurant and Bar in London is a 3-minute walk from Knightsbridge Tube Station.

Lovely and unusual twist on afternoon tea inspired by Chinese dim sum

I was disappointed. The waitstaff was disorganized. I was one of the few dinning and it took 20 mins to get a drink. I came here because what attracted me was the idea of traditional tea time and dim dim. I also read praises on TimeOut magazine. There was a very limited tea selection, wasn't given a choice anyways and the dim sum itself wasn't filling and rather expensive for what you receieved. Honestly, you can do better at a low end dim sum place with the same generic tea and has cheaper, and probably tastier food. I would definitely NOT consider this "tea time" as it was advertised. I was left very disappointed about the whole experience.

The food was really nice and it was good value. We did the Dim dum afternoon tea and I liked how it was different to other afternoon teas. The jasmine tea was lovely and the presentation was nice. It was a little disappointing that we were the only ones in the restaurant. There was no atmosphere and it felt very awkward at times but I cannot fault the food. I went on a Saturday and I would suggest going later in the afternoon/ evening as it might be a bit better.

We really enjoyed the afternoon dim sum tea. Each item on the menu was very good. The presentation was excellent. I did think that the glass of prosecco was included in the price but it was included on the bill for extras. As the tea was a gift anyway we were not inclined to quibble. We enjoyed the experience and would consider coming to the restaurant for a Chinese meal at some time in the future.
