We often eat at 'The Toad', but eating out for the first time with a visiting four year old was a challenge! Not at the Toad though! They made Ethan feel really special as they had all his favourites on their kids menu! Anoher lovely evening with visiting family.

A classic country pub, The Lazy Toad Inn Exeter has earned a place in the Michelin Guide with its hearty British and European menu. Housed in an 18th-century, Grade II-listed building, this character-packed pub also boasts a peaceful beer garden.

Favourites on The Lazy Toad menu include loin of pork with Jerusalem artichoke purée, salt-baked celeriac and red wine salsify, blue cheese and hazelnut tortellini with crispy kale, and classic fish and chips served with minted mushy peas and hand-cut chips. Amongst the indulgent desserts, savour glazed banana loaf with peanut butter ice cream, or lemon posset with passion fruit jelly and shortbread biscuit.

With open fires and original features, The Lazy Toad in Brampford Speke is a charmingly rustic venue serving English and international wines, and local ales. Sunday roasts are also a firm favourite.

The Lazy Toad Inn Devon sits in an idyllic village on the banks of the River Exe. Exeter is just a 15-minute drive away.

Food very good, we all enjoyed our choices. Wine good value. Seating uncomfortable though, I expected more than a bench with no back support. We only had one course.

I celebrated my birthday here and the staff were wonderful! Best service in a Devon restaurant. The staff were so welcoming and attentive. I would go there more often if it was my local. The staff really are a credit to the establishment. The food was simple yet delicious, my fish was cooked to perfection and the chocolate pudding was beautiful!

Good food, lovely weather helped the relaxing Friday evening ambience, friendly service. The pork was delicious - I'm glad I chose something different from the fish and chips I usually opt for (not that they're not delicious too...)

Heard so much about this restaurant - but was sadly disappointed.

Excellent meal, friendly, attentive staff. Nice touch with the Mother's Day chocolates. Speedy service on a very busy day. Portion size was sensible. Green veg slightly overcooked but as it was such a busy time, not surprising. Pervious visits this has not been a problem.

Pleasant atmosphere, nice fire, food all good and home smoked salmon outstanding. Good luck with it.
