A classic country pub, The Lazy Toad Inn Exeter has earned a place in the Michelin Guide with its hearty British and European menu. Housed in an 18th-century, Grade II-listed building, this character-packed pub also boasts a peaceful beer garden.

Favourites on The Lazy Toad menu include loin of pork with Jerusalem artichoke purée, salt-baked celeriac and red wine salsify, blue cheese and hazelnut tortellini with crispy kale, and classic fish and chips served with minted mushy peas and hand-cut chips. Amongst the indulgent desserts, savour glazed banana loaf with peanut butter ice cream, or lemon posset with passion fruit jelly and shortbread biscuit.

With open fires and original features, The Lazy Toad in Brampford Speke is a charmingly rustic venue serving English and international wines, and local ales. Sunday roasts are also a firm favourite.

The Lazy Toad Inn Devon sits in an idyllic village on the banks of the River Exe. Exeter is just a 15-minute drive away.

Delicious steak, friendly service and easy to book online. Lunch menu slightly limited, but delicious

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, The Lazy Toad utterly enchanted us. From the car park, a beautiful walled garden leads through to the pub. We received a warm welcome and were immediately delighted by the specials on offer for lunch. Attentive but not intrusive service with suggestions and help. Delicious breaded feta cheese cubes & cheese sticks & olives kept us very happy until our 3 main courses arrived. We had all ordered something different and we were all convinced we had chosen the best dish. Fantastic seasonal risotto with salmon steak, the beef hash with an egg, squash & blue cheese open sandwich. All super tasty! We were, of course, tempted by puds and these proved as appealing as all that had gone before. Finally, we took coffees outside in the May sunshine. An absolute pearl to find near to Exeter and a place that we shall re-visit at every opportunity. Sincere thanks to the team at The Lazy Toad!

Lovely staff beautiful pub. The food was fairly good but I'd probably revisit for location and setting whuch are stunning -rather than food. The menu was quite limited especially for vegetarians. Tastes need to be cleaner and sharper.

Food very good, we all enjoyed our choices. Wine good value. Seating uncomfortable though, I expected more than a bench with no back support. We only had one course.
