A friend and I came here for her birthday for afternoon tea. We couldn't fault the afternoon tea that we received as it was really lovely. It was nice and quiet considering it was a Friday and we were greeted with polite and attentive staff. We look forward to returning in the future.

Went for a "Champagne afternoon tea for two" ( a 6oth birthday gift). The staff who welcomed and served us were all pleasant and polite. Lovely and clean environment. Good selection of finger sandwiches and cakes, all delicious but my favourite was the strawberry tart and the chocolate cup filled with cream. My friend is gluten free and vegetarian and the Hilton accommodated her dietary needs. She said it was the tastiest gluten free bread and best cheesecake she had eaten. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Beautiful evening meal in The Larder. Menu choices were excellent (not too few or too many choices). All courses ordered were delicious and very high quality. The serving staff were very attentive and pleasant, in particular, the very young gentleman who took excellent care of us.

The only negative comment I have to make is at 9.15pm as we were having our final course, we could barely hear ourselves speak because of the noise nearby due to waiting staff sorting out cutlery to prepare for breakfast set up and being very noisy too setting the tables. Could they not sort cutlery in the kitchen or adjacent room so diners do not have to try and speak over the din of banging cutlery & crockery when resetting the tables?

Despite the latter part of our meal being interrupted by the din, overall we had a very pleasant evening and when back in Swindon will visit The Larder again.

We ordered for the a la carte menu, couldn't find fault. The steak was cooked perfectly and the flavours of the roasted vegetables complemented it perfectly. They did forget to give us steak knives though! The duck breast/pulled duck platter was delicious! Pudding appeared homemade and very tasty. Their house wine was good quality too.
