A Mediterranean haven in the heart of Edinburgh, Laila’s Bistro serves up nutritious Middle-Eastern and international cuisine in its laidback café-bistro setting. The vibrant Laila’s follows the success of owner Jamal’s previous restaurants, Hanam’s Middle Eastern Restaurant and Pomegranate Mezze and Shisha Bar.

Middle-Eastern delicacies on the Laila’s Bistro menu such as vine leaves stuffed with aromatic rice and lemon-scented chicken wings join familiar favourites like beer-battered fish with gourmet chips and Aberdeen Angus burgers, which can be topped with flavoursome extras like sun-dried tomato tapenade. For lunch, there’s a Middle Eastern mezze plate, as well as tasty shawarma and falafel wraps.

Guests at Laila’s Bistro in Edinburgh are invited to bring their own alcohol, with no charge for corkage. Smoky, Arabic coffee is served alongside a selection of pastries, and desserts include traditional baklava with saffron and cardamom, as well as a smooth caramel parfait and delectable hot chocolate fudge cake.

Laila’s Bistro is not far from Edinburgh Waverley Station. Open 7 days a week, it is just a 3-minute walk from St Giles’ Cathedral.

Food was fabulous, so good didn't want it to finish. Lovely atmosphere and staff. Excellent value for money I would be a regular visitor if I lived in Edinburgh.

Relaxed comfortable atmosphere with excellent service. My companion enjoyed the chicken wrap while I had Kalamari with an excellent green salad. The prices are very reasonable and there is no corkage charge for a bottle of wine. We are certainly going to return and I will recommend it to others.

The restaurant was charming and the staff polite and very attentive. The food was superb and in large portions. The atmosphere was calm and warm. We would definitely eat there again.

We're disappointed with our meal, both chose gourmet burgers advertised as coming in a ciabatta and served with salad, they came in a normal bap and no salad and very expensive for what they were. Chips were very fatty too.

Great wee eating place, staff lovely, food delicious and an interesting menu as well as huge portions.

I have been here many times and LOVED Lailah's. However on this occasion, I had to send my salmon back as it was such a TINY portion I had been given. Give them their due, It was replaced immediately by a "normal" portion. Also I do not like an optional donation to charity being added on to the bill. Hopefully Lailah's will rethink this and ask for donations rather than putting a sum of money on to the bill.

We had a great night here, lovely atmosphere, brilliant staff and delicious food. None of us had been before and all of us would go back! Totally recommend!
