Bringing faultless Italian cuisine to Glasgow since 1970, La Lanterna is the holder of The Glasgow Restaurant Association's Best Italian Restaurant as well as winning Best Italian Restaurant in Scotland in 2013 and 2014. Nestled underneath the busy shopping district of Hope Street, the cosy bistro dining room has been serving Glasgow for 44 years.

Showcasing one of the city’s most comprehensive traditional Italian menus, La Lanterna offers fresh antipasti, daily fish specials, and succulent veal and beef steaks. Pasta rolled fresh in house goes into dishes like seafood ravioli with cream bisque, or warming lasagne made to La Lanterna’s treasured recipe.

An extensive menu of traditional Italian desserts at La Lanterns in Glasgow includes creamy panna cotta drizzled with chocolate orange sauce, or tiramisu made to a 35-year-old recipe. An excellent wine list is sourced from some of the finest vineyards in Italy.

Having truly stood the test of time and enjoying a glowing reputation across the whole of Glasgow, La Lanterna Italian restaurant sits just 4 minutes’ walk from Glasgow Central Rail Station, adjacent to the Radisson Blu Hotel, and 5 minutes from the Hydro Arena.

This is our favourite restaurant because of the wonderful food and friendly and efficient staff. I have never been disappointed and never hesitate to recommend it to anyone who appreciates good food. I particularly enjoy the seafood dishes.

My first visit to this restaurant ,15 minute delay on arrival to which head waiter apologised giving our table free glass of wine.Extensive menu to pick from ,al of our company enjoyed our starters and mains.Reasonably priced for a restaurant of this class.

Great meal. Prompt and attentive service. Nice atmosphere and decor (though could do with some air conditioning!). Lunch menu very good value for money.

Excellent lunch. Enjoyed goats cheese starter followed by lasagne and of course a lovely bottle of wine.

The food was some of the finest Italian cuisine we have experienced among many fine restaurants in Glasgow. I had an excellent duck ravioli accompanied by focaccia and my wife raved about her crab ravioli

    Very busy little restaurant
We were placed at a table beside a group of parties it was very noisy couldn't hear each other speak! Sat the whole meal in silence
Staff busy paying attention to the groups rather than our table
    Starters were amazing
Lasagne was very burnt and stuck to the plate
