Absolutely lovely evening. The food was beautifully cooked and presented, with portions of just the right size so that 3 courses left us feeling completely satisfied but not as if we'd over indulged. The service was impeccable.

La Cuina in Cardiff brings Catalan cuisine to the Welsh capital. Blending the finest in Spanish and local ingredients, the experimental dishes add modern flair to traditional flavours.

Often pairing sweet with savoury, the La Cuina Cardiff menu is rich in flavour. Try chicken with prunes and chocolate, fillet of Welsh beef with red wine sauce and caramelised shallots, or papillote of locally sourced fish served with fresh vegetables. The tapas menu is teeming with authentic Spanish produce, including Catalan white sausage from the Pyrenees, pan-fried chorizo with rocket and goats’ cheese, and slow-cooked rabbit in vinaigrette.

Desserts at La Cuina are no less extravagant, with a dish of homemade dark chocolate served with thin toast, sea salt and olive oil a striking option. Orange and almond cake with orange blossom and lemon foam is equally tempting. La Cuina also runs regular events from its light, modern rooms, including Catalan, Spanish and French language lessons.

Close to all of Cardiff’s main sports venues, La Cuina Kings Road is a 10-minute walk from Ninian Park Train Station.

Delicious food - we had the cured sardines on filo pastry, blackpudding and mushroom croquettes - and they were all so flavoursome & beautifully presented. Desserts fantastic too - orange & almond cake was particularly lovely. Totally lived up to expectations (having seen it mentioned in the Sunday Times). Friendly waiter too.

Been many times ... It's a fantastic, memorable restaurant. This time though the food lacked that little bit of "zing"!

Warmly welcomed, charming waiter who explained the menu to us. The first course of scallops was perfect, the rabbit for two of us was tender and tasty, our guest enjoyed her pork too. We ended with turron and a glass od dessert wine between us as we simply could not indulge any more. The only critiscism was the door, when opened caused a draught but that probably cannot be avoided.

Very good atmosphere, individual cooking, excellent choice of beer and wines. Artisan beer was a particular delight. Single loo behind the till counter was a big minus, Service was charming but insufficient for a busy night.

On arrival we were made to feel welcome a friendly atmosphere. Great old school decor.
The food was amazing we gave the starter we ordered 10/10, I had the scallops which were perfect, my husband had the meat board 10/10. Didn't think the stater could be beaten until the main arrived. I had fish of the day, cooked to perfection 10/10, my husband had the steak also cooked to perfection 10/10. This little gem is highly recommended. Great food great service!!!! ????????

Absolutely amazing! The best meal out in Cardiff I have had for a long time! We ordered the shoulder of lamb dish for two persons which was an absolute joy - melt in the mouth heaven. Our only regret was that we enjoyed it so much it left no room for desert! Staff were very knowledgable and courteous without being invasive. Can't wait to visit again!
