A vibrant slice of Spain right in the centre of Manchester, La Bandera Restaurante Bar serves an exciting selection of tapas dishes and larger Spanish delicacies. Bright yellow leather banquettes and contemporary red lampshades add a colourful Iberian flair to this contemporary eatery, while the wine list offers a great selection of bottles from around the region.
Authentic Spanish produce features throughout the La Bandera Restaurante Bar menu. Popular sharing platters include selections of the best Spanish cheeses, and a range of perfectly aged meats, including lightly spiced chorizo and jamon gran reserva. Small plates include inventive items like twice-cooked Galician octopus with a mojo rojo drizzle, and mini chicken escalopes in traditional Mouruno marinade with an Asian-style sauce. There are juicy meat recipes ranging from Iberian pork loin to lamb shank, and rice delicacies like rice with lobster cooked in a seafood broth.
From the bar at La Bandera Manchester, there is a great wine selection, and colourful cocktails made using fresh fruit and premium spirits. The dessert menu offers up treats with stunning presentation, including coconut bread with a caramelised top, and lush tiramisu.
A great showcasing of Spanish culinary flair right in the city centre, La Bandera Restaurante Bar sits 8 minutes' walk from Salford Central Rail Station.

We love the foos a lot, and service ia good, romantic environments, we all had a wonderful night. We ordered cod, kind of paella, and steak in bone. This restaurant is the best we had in our trip in England.

The staff were very attentive but we had the wrong wine brought to the table - we'd ordered a Rose and a bottle of white wine was presented. We chose bread with a mix plate of cheese with charcuterie to start. The bread was quite dry and no oil or butter accompanied it. We then had mixed tapas and ordered one with fillet steak and we were served braised cheeks in error. The tapas of the day was recommended and described as a stew with beans and black pudding. It was mainly potatoes with beans and one small piece of black pudding. Overall very average food for 4 star prices.

The service here is impeccable, decor beautiful, but it somehow still feels like a family restaurant in Spain. The Food was lovely - I had Octopus to start, followed by the meat and seafood rice. All the rice dishes are delicious, and presented beautifully. Portions are deceptively vast. Take a big appetite!

Dined early, 6.30pm on a Wednesday night. No one else in the restaurant. I cannot fault the service of our waiter who fully explained the menu and gave some good hints and tips as well as explaining specials and recommended portion sizes as we opted for Tapas. Secondly the food was fantastic and the 6 dishes we ordered (between 2 of us) was plenty enough and was of high quality. I saw a previous review about prices being high. I would probably slightly agree as most Tapas plates were between £6 - £10 but I would not go over the top and say it was ridiculously expensive. I think it is standard city centre pricing.
My only slight concern was in the detail. The bar area seemed to be used for a changing area for staff and there was also cleaning equipment on the seats and plastic bags (looked like staff belongings). I can only put this down to us being early. I went to the restroom which for the gents was a single cubicle. I have to say that considering we were early in the day and no one else in, the toilet was messy with a big pool of water on the floor and pieces of tissue paper in the sink. I always think that the attention to detail signals the sign of a quality establishment.
However, in summary. Great food, great wine, great service and would definitely return and hopefully I just caught them on a bad day in relation to the detail

Very disappointed in the rice dish: Mar y Montana. Little flavor, almost nothing other than rice and overpriced too.

Class Act Spanish restaurant - food, drink, service all superb so what more could one want. I'm afraid the one thing I don't want and that surprised me was large screen TV's showing the football - we love football and attend a lot of Man City home games but found this out of keeping with the rest of this stylish restaurant. If I want to watch footy on a TV I'll go to a pub.
