A vibrant slice of Spain right in the centre of Manchester, La Bandera Restaurante Bar serves an exciting selection of tapas dishes and larger Spanish delicacies. Bright yellow leather banquettes and contemporary red lampshades add a colourful Iberian flair to this contemporary eatery, while the wine list offers a great selection of bottles from around the region.

Authentic Spanish produce features throughout the La Bandera Restaurante Bar menu. Popular sharing platters include selections of the best Spanish cheeses, and a range of perfectly aged meats, including lightly spiced chorizo and jamon gran reserva. Small plates include inventive items like twice-cooked Galician octopus with a mojo rojo drizzle, and mini chicken escalopes in traditional Mouruno marinade with an Asian-style sauce. There are juicy meat recipes ranging from Iberian pork loin to lamb shank, and rice delicacies like rice with lobster cooked in a seafood broth.

From the bar at La Bandera Manchester, there is a great wine selection, and colourful cocktails made using fresh fruit and premium spirits. The dessert menu offers up treats with stunning presentation, including coconut bread with a caramelised top, and lush tiramisu.

A great showcasing of Spanish culinary flair right in the city centre, La Bandera Restaurante Bar sits 8 minutes' walk from Salford Central Rail Station.

Great food, good wine, but one member of staff a bit bossy. We wanted all the dishes at onnce, but the prawns & asparagus served after the mains, quite odd! ??

Venue was a little uninspiring, bright yellow seating!! whilst the tapas was very good it was barely warm. Octopus and pig's cheeks very good, prawns not so. Mains very good.

What a great restaurant! Went a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed our meal off the Main menu; we decided to return last night to try the tapas - this was not a mistake! The Pulpo (octopus) was soft and beautifully cooked on a fantastic smoked paprika mash; the Croquettas Chiprion (squid ink croquettes) were to die for. We also had delicious Rabas de Calamar (battered squid), Mejillones (mussels) and Papas Arrugadas (Canarian spiced potatoes - I'm drooling just thinking about all the dishes, which couldn't be faulted. We washed the lovely food down with a nice bottle of reasonably priced white Rioja. It's fair to say the tapas are more than a step up from the usual albondigas (meatballs) etc, which is reflected in the price, but worth every penny!

Service was really good, especially as the restaurant was full. Peter (our waiter), was friendly, informative and not overly intrusive.

All in all, a great experience, which will definitely be repeated

It's a lovely little restaurant with a nice friendly atmosphere. The waiter was knowledgeable about the food and explained about the courses. All of our courses were gorgeous especially my main of stuffed Hake and my husband's cod & tiger prawn skewers. The service was very friendly & professional. If you like good Spanish food then I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
