A vibrant slice of Spain right in the centre of Manchester, La Bandera Restaurante Bar serves an exciting selection of tapas dishes and larger Spanish delicacies. Bright yellow leather banquettes and contemporary red lampshades add a colourful Iberian flair to this contemporary eatery, while the wine list offers a great selection of bottles from around the region.

Authentic Spanish produce features throughout the La Bandera Restaurante Bar menu. Popular sharing platters include selections of the best Spanish cheeses, and a range of perfectly aged meats, including lightly spiced chorizo and jamon gran reserva. Small plates include inventive items like twice-cooked Galician octopus with a mojo rojo drizzle, and mini chicken escalopes in traditional Mouruno marinade with an Asian-style sauce. There are juicy meat recipes ranging from Iberian pork loin to lamb shank, and rice delicacies like rice with lobster cooked in a seafood broth.

From the bar at La Bandera Manchester, there is a great wine selection, and colourful cocktails made using fresh fruit and premium spirits. The dessert menu offers up treats with stunning presentation, including coconut bread with a caramelised top, and lush tiramisu.

A great showcasing of Spanish culinary flair right in the city centre, La Bandera Restaurante Bar sits 8 minutes' walk from Salford Central Rail Station.

Excellent food and service. Squid ink croquetas were amazing. Service was attentive but casual. Just excellent.

Very ordinary really from start to finish. The food was OK but let's leave it at that. Wine list was ok and we had a couple of bottles of a very nice white Alter.

The best aspect of the visit is the overall friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. Our main server was Andrea and her professionalism, patience and ready smile put us all at ease. The rest of the waiting staff were as good but I don't know their names. The food was mostly very good with the stand out dishes being the garlicky mushrooms, the hake in lobster sauce, the sea bass and the steak with truffle sauce. One of the group is a vegetarian and he had a good quality but slightly limited choice of options. Price wise the main courses were reasonable but perhaps should include the side dishes. The starters for me should be a pound or two cheaper or there should be more on the plate. The ambience of the restaurant is sophisticated and lively with lots of vocal diners making the atmosphere an enjoyable one. Compared to other Spanish restaurants in Manchester La Bandera is much better than most of similar pricing but is a little bit behind the very best one, El Gato Negro; except for the quality of the staff who are by far the best in Manchester. Overall we all were happy with the whole evening and will definitely return perhaps to try the taster menu.

The quality of the food here is superb. The cocktail and drinks menu compliment the food for selection and quality and the service is excellent. Manchester has some great tapas bars now and La Bandera continues to set the bar with the quality of ingredients and imaginative creations and displays, for the others to live up to. Truly excellent place to eat.Cant wait to go back!????

We really enjoyed the meal. My parter is spanish and she thought the food was very good too. Only concern is the price. We had a voucher for half price but if we didn't we think the price would be way too high! Tapas prices were not fair and should be revalued in our opinion.
