Right beside the canal, Kupp in Paddington Basin is a contemporary all-day venue, serving up creative breakfasts, grill favourites and cocktail classics. Exposed brick walls and ambient lighting lend the restaurant a chic warehouse feel.

Start the day with a Scandinavian breakfast board, or the spicy poached egg with natural yoghurt, chilli butter, fresh chives and sourdough toast. Elsewhere on the Kupp restaurant menu, find open sandwiches, sharing platters and hearty main dishes. Try the venison loin with lingonberry sauce, the signature 8oz beef burger with skinny fries, or the 24-hour marinated Robata-grilled chicken breast with grilled leeks, honey-roasted endive and sour hop gravy.

The menu’s fresh, Scandinavian-inspired feel is reflected in the décor at Kupp. Brick walls and tiled flooring create a homely but contemporary feel, whilst stalls line the bar, which serves craft beers, ciders and classic cocktails.

Kupp restaurant in London sits beside the water in popular Paddington Basin. Paddington Rail Station is just a 3-minute walk away.

    Good food; terrible waiter.

He was rushed off his feet and KuPP could have probably supervised him better, BUT his attitude was terrible. He rebuked us for getting our own food from the counter when he should have apologised for the delay. We had to remind him to produce the water glasses and the bill. Under the circumstances we left less than the 10% tip and he again gave us a dirty look. I won't go back which is a shame as the location is good and the food was decent if limited in the menu. The coffee was good too and the barista knew what she was doing at least.

The food is good and all 9 of us enjoyed it. However, the service is abominable. The waiters, and the manager failed to understand we wanted the starter long before the main course especially for the young children. Course 1 took 50 minutes to arrive and the mains another 40 minutes. You'd think that they wanted their money yet they took almost 20 minutes to bring the bill. I think it is the kitchen staff who are so slow because the food arrives hot. Being busy, and it was, is not a valid excuse. We shall not be going again, certainly not on a Sunday.

Kupp has greatly improved since we first went there shortly after it opened. The menu has a broad range of choices, the smoked salmon is one of our favourites, the portions are satisfying, and the presentation and cooking are mouth-watering. The hamburgers and meat balls, with fries of course, are delicious and the soft drinks, the ginger beer especially, are very refreshing. The salmon, steak, and chicken are also excellent, but we are sometimes content with something more simple. Both the meat and the fish boards are outstanding. The ambiance is uplifting, the seating is comfortable too, and on.a a sunny day eating by the canal is delightful . Reservations are advisable as the restaurant is busy most days. The one drawback is that the service is slow.

lovely canal side table in the sun. Scandi menu a nice change from other local chains as long as you like smoked fish and crispbread. Delicious smoothies.

A very relaxing ambiance with the canal and passing boats as a bonus. The food has improved no end since it opened. It is all delicious and the portions are handsome. The only negative is a somewhat extended wait. It was a Sunday and those enlightened pre-ordered on line and were served immediately.

I was really impressed with KuPP as the service was excellent. The location is perfect if you're looking to get something to eat before catching a train from Paddington and it's only a short walk from the station. The restaurant is right by the canal and is tucked away from the busy road nearby. The food was great (we had a sharing board) and will definitely be coming back!

KuPP is a great concept, and the menu is varied and appealing, really didn't live up to expectations yesterday though. I ordered a Beetroot & Smoked Trout salad; I had three teeny pieces of beetroot in my whole bowl..... and the service left an awful lot to be desired!! Ordered drinks that had to be chased up half hour later, a side dish that never came - and if we'd wanted coffee or anything else, well, forget it. A shame. Won't be rushing back...had a nice juice though (Carrot Beetroot & Orange) perhaps that's what they used all the beetroot up in?
