A superbly stylish monochrome eatery in the centre of the city, Koukash @ Doubletree by Hilton Liverpool offers an eclectic blend of British cuisine with strong international influences. The plush black leather couches make for a perfect spot for afternoon tea, and there is also live music on Friday and Saturday.
The Koukash menu offers versatile dining options throughout the day. There are small plates, ideal for sharing, such as spicy meatballs with pomodoro sauce and shaved parmesan, and spicy patatas bravas. Delicate starters include pan-seared scallops with pea purée, while mains include British classics like duo of Welsh lamb, and beer-battered fish and chips. International tweaks to the menu can be seen in dishes like lobster mac 'n' cheese, and there are succulent grill options, including the chateaubriand for 2 to share.
A great selection of freshly baked cakes and pastries are included in afternoon tea at Koukash Liverpool. From the elegant bar area, fine champagnes are on offer, as well as premium spirits, world beers and cocktails.
Immensely stylish and with a buzzing ambience, Koukash is 2 minutes' walk from Moorfields Rail Station.

We've visited on a number of occasions and generally the food and service has been very good. We've also purchased vouchers and given them to family members as an extra gift in their Christmas cards.
I'm sorry to say the in recent months the service hasn't been up to standard for example having to ask a number of times for drinks, incorrect billing, slow service and the meal on Sunday (meat) was very grizzly! So sorry but giving you the opportunity to improve by giving honest feedback. The relatives we gave vouchers to commented on the service too. It may be that the staff are new?
I guess you had a busy weekend with the Grand National event but on Sunday I observed a number of people having the ask / remind staff for drinks etc. The restaurant at one point had 24 covers (including a table of 10) but there did appear to be adequate staff on the floor. I've worked in hospitality and it does take time for a team to gel and work together. From my experience, it is much harder serving tables and timing, than working at a function
It's a shame as the hotel, venue/dining area, menu selection and food presentation is lovely, the food particularly the vegetable could do with being piping hot too.
Hope you can take this frank and honest feedback and make improvements

I booked my wife and daughter in for afternoon tea as a mothers day treat, on picking them up they oozed compliments about the service and food they received a very happy pair of ladies.

Cocktails were great but the food we had was absolutely terrible- a dry burger that had clearly just been warmed up and no garnish, and was meant to come with chunky chips and didn't. Burger and chips was £13 and it would've been fresher from McDonald's unfortunately. We were so disappointed, me more so as I paid for the meal as a treat for my boyfriend and as I don't have a lot of money it was horrible to justify having to pay £60 for something which was so bad. Felt like because we ate in the bar we were not given as much of a priority, and was shocked to find a £5.95 service charge added to our bill which I asked to be taken off. Staff and service was lovely but the food was just terrible. I really hope you take the comments on board and do something about it because it is such a nice place.
